Having an email/website field

For a number of my content types I need an email and/or website field. When this field is displayed, I'd like the web/email to be displayed as a link. However, when people are entering email addresses, it seems a clutter to have a ton of dropdown format options etc and additionally I don't want people adding in any formatting etc. Yet choosing "Plain text" in Text Processing means there doesn't seem to be a way to do this. (Which was confusing until I realised that "Plain text" in Text Processing doesn't use the Plain Text filter.) I just wanted to double check I'm not missing something obvious and my slightly convoluted options are: - just set the field as formatted text, ignore all the clutter of the format stuff and hope that people don't enter their email between h3 tags - install Better Formats/a custom module to hide the text formats from people (and set them by default to the Plain Text format) - create a preprocess function that works on these fields and converts addresses to links

simplenews: add multiple lists of nodes to a newsletter

Hi, I've just been working through the example here: http://drupal.org/comment/reply/1492498 Which describes how to add site content to a simplenews newsletter using entity reference, views bulk operations, and rules. The problem I'm having is that this recipe only works for a single list of nodes - I want to have two lists, with recent 'News Stories' shown first, then upcoming 'events'. I'm thinking of doing it by chaining rules together, with the first rule running when the newsletter is first saved. This would then pass the newsletter nid to a view, which would generate a table of news stories, and invoke another rule to add the stories to the newsletter. This would finish with a page redirect to the events view, which would invoke a final rule to add the events, and redirect back to the newsletter. The problem I'm having is with how to pass the newsletter nid through the different stages of the process. I was hoping there was an easy way to pass the newsletter nid as an argument to a view, then use this as a table field in the output (which would be the same for all rows). I think this would solve the problem, but I can't figure out how to do it. I'm using drupal 7 and views 3. Thanks, andy baxter

Content Types anomaly

I have 3 content types but only the original Basic Page and Article show up in Add Content. I feel that when I had Organic Groups modules on they took over some of the other content types and have not released them. I now find that the Event content type does not display in Workbench > Create Content either. I created a menu item with the content type name and gave it a path of node/add/event, this works but is no use in Workbench. Got me perplexed. Has anyone experienced this and how to fix it with OG modules off. Thanks in advance Roger

How to really embed video and audio from www.archive.org in content type fields so users can see the video or listen to audio

Hello I am new to drupal and do not have a coding background experience. I am uploading a lot of video-audio files towww.archive.org <http://www.archive.org/> I would like to play or embed video and audio files in my website. each new added post to the website should include: - Video Player to play the file hosted inwww.archive.org <http://www.archive.org/> - Audio Player to play the file hosted inwww.archive.org <http://www.archive.org/> - Links for downloading the other media (video-audio) containers as .avi, .mp4, ogv, .flv, .mp3, .ogg. I've added all my taxonomies with its associated vocabularies and terms. Now I do not know how to build the correct content type and its fields, I've downloaded a lot of modules, including media, media front, embed fields ....etc and many others. So please advise and help how to do such a website and how to set the content type correctly to achieve what I am looking for. Thanks a lot WI

Deploying Content Type Changes

Okay, I know how to get my Views into code and Git for deployment. But now we have to make some changes to content types and deploy them through the cycle. I'm sure there are some people on this list who have opinions on the best way to do this. Oh, the immediate need is for D6, but I'll eventually need to know how to do this for D7 as well. Drupal 7 Forms

In D7 to make a form and then show only the result data with no styling at all (that is the task), I am using echo $output; die; in my form_submit function. Is that the right way? It works, but I wonder if there's a better way? Thanks, Fred

Change all embedded youtube links in database to &fs=0

I have almost 200 embedded you tube videos on a site that the client would now like to change to not be resizable. I know there must be a way to do this within the database (find and replace?) but I'm not sure how. I can do it in Wordpress, so it must be doable in Drupal! Thanks for you help!
