Here is my code: function mymod_menu(){ $items['front'] = array( 'title' => '', 'page callback' => 'mymod_homepage', 'type' => MENU_NORMAL_ITEM, 'access callback' => 'user_access', 'access arguments' => array('View published content'), ); return $items; } and anonymous users have "View published content" checked off. With or without the "access callback" line, I get access denied for the home page for anon users. I am confused as to why. What am I missing here? Thank you, Fred

Content type with multiple date fields, and the calendar module

I have a content type that has many dates, for example: Start date Do something date End date This is not a time span, they are three individual events all related to eachother, all members of the same content type. I would very much like to be able to display a calendar with something like: [Node title] [Label of date that matched] In a calendar, but what happens is, the calendar shows ALL of the fields regardless if they are matched or not. Example. Start date may2 Do something date may 5 End date may 7 What happens now, on the 2nd 5th and 7th they all say something like [node title] [start date] [do something date] [end date] But I only want it to show JUST the field that matched. To put it another way, I need to display fields on the calendar, not nodes. Is this possible, are there any recommendations that don't involve me rolling my own code? Just upgraded from 7.12 to 7.14 using drush pm-update and now getting the following error Error: Notice: Undefined index: default_image in image_field_prepare_view() (line 207 of /var/www/mmgc/modules/image/image.field.inc). Running Centos 6.2 Kernel Linux 2.6.32-220.13.1.el6x86-64 with 8GB RAM, i3-2120 CPU, PHP 5.3.3 Notice on the forum others getting odd ball errors of a similar nature. Had to put my site into maintenance mode as error shows on front page which doesn't impress my users. Alison

node and term reference fields can lose data without warning in multilingual sites

There is a dangerous Catch-22 in D7 for multlingual sites. You can easily and silently lose your tagging and node references depending on what lang you are in when you edit a node. JA=Japanese, and EN=English. The Catch-22: 1. Start in EN interface. 2. Add Content > News. 3. Fill in info, setting lang=EN and assigning node and term references. Only EN and neutral items are available, which is expected. 4. Save. 5. The user is sent to node view of http://www.mydomain.com/press-room/news/2012/4/20/title 6. Click Translate. The translation begins with copies of the English content, including the Term and Node references, but the nodes are to English. You cannot select the JA nodes to reference because you are in EN interface. You must manually alter the URL to switch to JA interface and then manually delete text like "[nid:3579]" that appears in the node reference fields before replacing them with their JA counterparts. If you have Term Reference fields that pull from Translated taxonomy Terms, it is even more dangerous, because if you open a Japanese node or editing when using the English interface of the site, the Terms are silently deleted from the Term Reference fields. If you save, you will delete all your tags without ever having received a single warning. In other words, the node and term reference fields in the Edit screen are filtered according to the language of the user interface, not the language of the node being edited. The result is that editing a node of Language=A from the user interface language=B wipes out Language=A node and term references. Suggestions: A. The system should either switch the user interface to the language of the content when editing a node OR filter the node and term reference choices by the lang of the node, not the user interface. B. Also, it would be convenient if, when the system creates the translation node and copies over the source language content, it pulls in the paired translation items of the referenced nodes and terms and puts them into the new translation node instead of the other-language originals. However, this is clearly a "nice-to-have" and would probably cause problems of its own when there is no translation of a node or term, etc., so B should be left to the future.

Node Import from HTML Files

I have a D7 site--it's now live and doing well and the next step is to import a large set of staff bios. They are right now stored as PHP files, in a very organized format. They have these fields: Name Title Bio Image which must be parsed out of the HTML, and for Image, I must actually of course import the image as an image file. It looks like I would NOT have to parse the PHP b/c the PHP part is unrelated to the content items I need. I just need to parse out, for example, in a div with class="title" there is an H2 with his name and a P with the person's title. I think I can an XML parser in PHP to get those items. My first question is, should I be looking into the Feeds module, the Migrate module or do this with custom code? Once I get started hopefully I can finish. :) Thanks, Fred
