Create OG group content type programmatically

Does anyone know how to create a group content type on module install? I can create it by GUI by checking the "group" checkbox on the organic group vertical tab of the content type page. Thanks in advance.

Regarding podcast feeds in drupal.

Hi all… finally got my drupal instance working again and my security added… now, I do have a question for you all. I have seen something about where you can have a podcast feed implemented in drupal. how ever, I'm not sure if I should be able to do that under drupal 7.23. what I would like to know is if one of you were going to have a podcast feed, how would I go about this and how would I make it compatible with iTunes? I am going to send the feed to iTunes once I get everything set up. Any thought on this? thanks.

Unique identifier

Hi Folks, Is there any unique identifier associated with a re-written link field in a view? Context for the above question: AJAX is dead simple for links. There are four steps: 1. call hook_menu to establish two paths and the attendant callbacks <path-ante>/nojs/<path-post> and <path-ante>/ajax/<path-post> 2. re-write the path to include "/nojs" somewhere 3. tag the relevant links with "class=use-ajax" 4. include the line "drupal_add_library('system', 'drupal.ajax');" in the page. Here's the problem. When I receive the AJAX post in the callback for the path <path-ante>/ajax/<path-post>, I have to respond with the new HTML and a jQuery selector to indicate the "target" of my AJAX updates to the DOM. Since I don't know the DOM node that is calling me, I don't know how to tell the browser to select it. If there were some unique identifier, then when I re-write the link I can add this to the custom css classes that also are included with the re-write. Chris.

AJAX

Hi Folks, I have a view that displays a bunch of links to content. I want these links to load the content via AJAX. The instructions for my use case, which is not Drupal Forms, are sparse. Even so, I think I've followed them completely, and things are working as well as can be expected. So far, so good. I click a link and I see the spinner... but then nothing. And I know why, but I don't know how to correct it. The server returns a json string to the browser, and the browser simply does what that string implies, which is to muck with the DOM because, of course, that's what AJAX does. In my case I am returning the trivial "Hello World." string: $s = '<H1><B><U><I>Hello World.</I></U></B></H1>'; $ajax_commands = array(); $ajax_commands[] = ajax_command_after( NULL , $s); return drupal_json_output($ajax_commands); ...but notice that the jQuery selector is NULL . My reading of the instructions is that the target of the ajax_command will be relative to the DOM node that was clicked, but my experience is that nothing is being selected and consequently nothing it happening. I have verified that everything is otherwise correct. If I use ".use-ajax" as the selector, then EVERY link in the view is effected, so clearly the jQuery selector is the problem. I tried the obvious "this" (without quotes, because it is not a string in this context), which didn't work. Does anybody know how to address the clicked element of the DOM? render()

Hi Folks, I have a node expressed as an associate array: "$node = node_load($nid);" I have some mysteries: First, "print_r($node)" produces the same output as "print_r(render($node))", and I think the reason is that I need to add properties to the $node array to tell render() what I want done. Are my suspicions correct? Second, I seek to display $node as HTML. How do I do this? Chris.

Hi Folks, I defined a call to hook_menu and I created a path "modc/ajax/%node" (see below) with the attendant callback, "modc_ajax_node($node)". I am requesting the menu entry from a view by rewriting a title field as a link: "modc/ajax/[nid]". So far, so good. All the plumbing works, for the most part. First mystery: In my callback function, modc_ajax_node($node), I expected $node to be an integer because I think I told the view to use that replacement pattern, [nid], however var_dump($node) reveals it to be a fully developed structure that, with my level of experience, I can't distinguish from the internal representation of a node, and in fact it appears to be the correct node, guessing by what I see in the fields. Second mystery: O.K., so let's suppose that I have an internally represented node, and I want to display it. Shouldn't: return render($node): produce a display of the page? ... because it doesn't. So, I expect I am calling the wrong thing. Can anybody tell me how I convert the internal representation of a node to the printable HTML that I need? P.S.: If my modc_ajax_node($node) callback executes: return "<P>Hi!</P>"; then I see a fully rendered page showing the title, 'Module C AJAX node callback', with content "Hi!", just as expected. advanced poll problems

I tried to use the advanced poll module to make more flexible polls. The problem is that as soon as the first person votes, everyone else sees the vote tally with no check boxes, so they cannot vote. What could be causing this?" Thanks, Jim

Hi to all I have developed a website based on Drupal 7, let's call it domain1.com. The owner of the website bought domain2.com and wants to change domains but to keep everything else. Themes and modules, content... Everything. What would be the easiest way? Thanks for any help

AJAX

Hi Folks, I have discovered why I am getting multiple events -- increasingly multiple events. In the following code, the "attach" method is called for each click and notice that this has the effect of attaching a new event handler for each event handler already attached. And here's the mystery: My code differs by ONLY identifiers from the example I followed ( http://interactivejunky.com/tutorial-demos/ij-ajax-commands/trigger-page ) and the example works correctly which leaves unexplained why I have to add an unbind() call to avoid the multiple attach problem. I considered that it might be the version of jQuery, but I see the same problem with both 1.7 and 1.8, so at least as far as jQuery_update is concerned, it is not a jQuery issue. I don't know if it is a "behaviors" issue, because I still don't fully understand how "behaviors" works. Anybody have any insight into this question? (Attached is the complete (trivial) module for experimentation, should that be interesting.) page with multiple nodes configurable by unreg user

Hi all, In my D7 site I have a list of nodes of a specific content type. I use the XPath Feeds module to create these nodes from an XML document. I know I can create a view to display those nodes, but I need to update the nodes using AJAX and I'd love to allow the visitor to move nodes to the top so the nodes he/she is most interested in stay visible easily. The rest has to be displayed using the sort order defined in the view. What is the best way to use AJAX to update the nodes content in a view? How can I give the visitor (unregistered user) the ability to move nodes to the top? Thanks for any help. Bert
