Hi Roger, In "admin/people/permissions" you can choose the new content type to be viewable by certain user roles. True, but that applies to new content types it cannot be used on an occasional basis on the generic New Page Content Type. Problem with using my own Content Types is that they are locked down automatically by Workbench unless the switch is off and then they become generic as above, for everyone. I will try the Content Access Module Thanks Roger

Entity info in hook_update_N()

I am trying to code a hook_update_N() for my module and need to use entity_get_info(). It's not returning anything. That function is in common.inc, so I would think it has to be available at update time. Does anyone understand why it is not working? Nancy

I know how to set blocks so that certain users can view content or not but I'm stuck on how to set certain pages of content made with the "A New Page" content Type to be viewable by certain users and not others Is this possible and if so how would one do this please? thanks Roger

When to use nodes and when to use new entities

I know there is a lot written on this topic but I am finding so much information that I would like to hear what people think on the list and maybe how you came to this thought position. I am not sure when to create new entities and when to use nodes. For example looking at something like an order or a line item in Drupal Commerce it makes sense to me that this is its own type of thing or a group in OG. However, if I am creating a list of resources and there are say three types of them would I want three content types or three bundles in a new entity type. UC category views and taxonomy menu

I've got a vocab named Catalog and all my terms set up, which are also my Ubercart categories. I'd like the superfish menu to use those taxonomy terms so I don't have to enter all the links by hand, but I tried to use Taxonomy Menu and can't figure out how I can get the terms to link to the uc_catalog view so that it displays child categories or products. Using Taxonomy Menu also causes problems with the links in the breadcrumbs. Do I need to create a new view identical to uc_catalog or something else? Thanks! -- Cindy Dykstra

Drupal7 Antivirus Support

Dear Drupal Experts I hope if somebody hosting Drupal7 in Ubuntu, then one can make use of ClamV for antivirus support. One can install ClamV in Ubuntu machine, and then enable ClamV module in Drupal 7 to make sure documents uploaded are scanned and virus affected documents can be filtered out. If one choose CenOS for hosting Drupal 7, what is the corresponding mechanism to support antivirus stuff. Please let me know how one can make sure virus affected documents are not uploaded to site. print module

Thanks Franz and Anoop I think for the web pages I'll create theme variations but that's only part of the requirement. I also need to print hard copy of each variation but the hard copy must have individual headers for each selection, not the Theme header. I think alternative themes may solve this but I have no idea how to set a menu option to print the hard copy of the display for each theme > ... > > Did you look for the print-modul (Printer, email and PDF versions)? > > It is configurable in some respects ... > > Servus > Franz Yes I did, I have to alter some of that but it also calls code from core so for me it's going to get messy. Views Exposed Filter question

I have a content type of Letter with fields for the body of the letter and the date the letter was written. I've created a view of this content type sorted on the date and with filters set to published, the Letter content type, and the letter date. This view works great in displaying the letters in the order in which they were written. My next refinement is to create an exposed filter which displays a scrolling list of the dates on which a letter was written, and only those dates, so that the user can scroll through valid dates (i.e., dates for which a letter exists) and select that letter to view. My first attempt was to use a select date for the filter. This works, but it requires that the user know ahead of time what a valid date is for the letter. For my next attempt I installed the Better Exposed Filters module. This worked a little better because now the user can specify that they want to see a letter whose date is greater than the date input. Neither of these solutions provide me with a scrolling list of filtered values. It is possible that my problem is one of nomenclature, i.e., not knowing what the Drupal term is for a scrolling list of filtered values. Thanks for any advice and guidance. Warren
