D7 upgrade - change to filtered html text format

Our Drupal 6 website has been around for 2 years and all editors use unfiltered html text format. Now that we know better and are upgrading to Drupal 7 I'm hoping to switch to filtered html. Since pre-existing nodes were created using unfiltered html, users assigned to filtered html can no longer edit node bodies. We need to use the secure format, rather than switch back to unfiltered. I've been experimenting with editing the signature_format field in the user table, but am not sure of the allowed values. I tried a '2' and 'filtered_html' and neither allowed the user to edit the node. Is there another way to go about this? Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Get taxonomy alias in PHP (D7)

How do you get the taxonomy *alias* in Drupal? I have a field template file and using the drupal_get_path_alias or url functions gives the wrong aliases. They return: > /tags/the-name When in fact the alias has been changed so it should be: > /blog/categories/name Cheers Gibbs

Strange Drupal 7 problem, site wants to reinstall

I have a D7 site live and working. I copied the database and /sites folder and did a fresh install of D7.23 to my pc about a month ago. Using that on my Fedora 19 desktop version for development ideas, all worked well and I was doing some dev work till late last night. Today I cannot open that Drupal localhost/mydev . I have a localhost/sandbox site which does work. All file ownerships and permissions are the same on sandbox and mydev. To use, localhost/mydev wants to do a fresh installation. /sites/default/settings.php is the same as it was last night but even after chmod 777 settings.php, install reports that it does not exist. /sites/default/files is the same as last night but it reports that /sites/default/files does not exist. I suspect that it may be an ownership problem where /files and settings have to be owned by apache but have not had this issue on other test dev sites, or maybe apache has calked it again but that does not explain the /sandbox site working. Can someone please advise me on what to look for and what permissions should apply to appropriate files, perhaps even suggest why things may have changed between last night and this afternoon. body not showing

Hi all, I have drupal 7, my drupal is fondos.apice.org.co, I have created several pages, for instance http://fondos.apice.org.co/cms/?q=node/20#overlay-context=node/20%3Fq%3Dnod… no matter how I put content in the body of the page it just does not show up. however, if I try to edit it then there is the content. what am I doing wrong? how can I get this to work? Strange Drupal 7 problem, site wants to reinstall

I have stopped and restarted the server and even cold booted the system. I tend to agree that it's not finding the database but that has me stumped. The database exists, tables are as they were and populated, passwords are unaltered. I've checked /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf but nothing is different. I deleted the database lines in /settings.php and entered random text in it's place which should have set off alarm bells. I'm thinking Drupal core core is not reading /settings.php and in fact not reading anything in the /sites/default file system as a whole and that has me concerned. Next step, I'll do a fresh install and copy the /sites file system over. That should prove or disprove the D7core assertion. Thanks Roger Try stoping and starting the server. updating tnid in database isn't resulting in changes on the front end : Drupal 7

Hi, I'm working under the assumption that manually changing tnid in the node table will result in the translated node showing up when a user clicks on the 'translate' tab. I have two nodes : node 600 in En and node 601 in Fr. Ive updated the tnid for node 601 to point to 600, but that hasn't done anything on the front end. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? -- -- Daniel Webster

Database Prefix

I have inherited a site that was built in India. Looking at the database, I see that they used a database prefix. No, I have no idea why. There is a little bit of data in the non-prefixed tables, although what I have looked at seems to be garbage. For example, the non-prefixed node table is empty. Does anyone know an easy way to get rid of the prefix? Are there any dangers in the straight-forward manual process? Nancy

How to tell Backup and Migrate Files which directory to back up?

I just installed Backup and Migrate Files. I then asked it to create a backup of the Files Directory. The directory I wanted backed up was DOCUMENT_ROOT/sites/default/files, but instead it backed up DOCUMENT_ROOT/files. I can't find any way to tell it to back up the directory where the uploaded files actually are.
