Drafts and required fields

Hello, all, I am working in a system that should have the following workflow: After a user has registered, he is able to create one (and just one) node of a certain content type, which has several fields. In order to "submit" que node type, there are several fields that should be filled, and thus I marked them as required. However, this person should also be able to save an "Incomplete" content type, as a "draft", before submiting it. And, in this case, the fields wouldn't have to be filled. After the content is submitted, the user should not be able to edit it anymore. Ok, so, how have I done it so far? I created the content type and then used save&edit ( http://drupal.org/project/save_edit) to create two status: published and saved. Then I used Skip validation (http://drupal.org/project/skip_validation) so, when the person just saves the content type, it skips validation. And the validation is just done when the person publishes the node, which is when I used Rules (http://drupal.org/project/rules) in order to prevent send e-mail and prevent further access to the content. Sounded good, but the problem is that the content is not being save after skipping validation. So, here I am, trying to think about another way of doing this. Hmmm Since you're happy with the Long Date format, I'm *guessing* there's no need for you to add a Custom Format on the date-time configure page. Just chose which Long Date format makes the most sense. But, thats just a guess. I had to do this recently for the first time myself - creating a custom date/time for a View. I guess I'll just tell you what I did for my View; I needed it to show an hour , in a format that would make sense to US based users (e.g. 5:52a). Here's what I did Under "Add format type" on the date/time configure page I typed: ------- Name: Hour Stamp Type: hour_stamp ------ I just chose "names" that made sense to me and my audience. (Again, I'm not sure you need to create a custom format..) for the "Format string" I looked at the php manual (Drupal shows a link to it) and found what I needed to just show the hour in a familiar US format. Next I went over to my View, and under "Fields" I chose "Content: Date (field_date) - From date" Next I chose: "Link this field to its node" (personal preference) And for "Format" I chose: "Hour Stamp" (see if you can choose "Long" here). Thats what I needed to do for my situation. The majority of the errors I am getting are of the form: 'Parameter n to function_name() /expected to be a reference, value given/ in //path/to/file/ on line m//.' This error is a known issue with PHP 5.3 and drupal from what I have read so far. I have seen a few reported issues where people are recommending finding the relevant function and changing the parameter definition from '&$variable' to just '$variable'. Permission problem

Drupl 6.14 I just created a new role for my assistant to post 'page' content type but not other content type, then I realized Publishing Option is disengaged so she can't post to the front page nor sticking it to the top. To my surprise, there is no permission setting for Publishing Option. I realized the publishing option comes online if I give Administer Nodes permission, but this causes to allow, not only Page but also any content type to be created even though they are not engaged for this role. First of all, I'd like to mention how helpful this support list has been. I don't know how I could have gotten started with Drupal without it! I'm just getting started with creating my own themes. I feel like I understand the structure of creating a Drupal 6 theme using CSS and template files, and I am also pretty familiar with Photoshop though I haven't worked much cutting up PSDs to use on a website. I was wondering if there were any good tutorials, resources, or books that show how to convert a PSD file into a Drupal 6 theme from beginning to end. Any help at all would be appreciated! -Kelly

File dimension: wrong size but only for a user

Hi all. I have a problem with a D6 site. I have an user that can upload image via cck filefield image item. And it works. Now I have "activated" the upload module to permit the upload of "attached file". But the same user can not upload nothing with this error: The selected file /1211449416.png/ could not be uploaded. The file is /84.63 KB/ which would exceed your disk quota of /1 MB/. Ehh ???? 84.63KB is bigger than 1MB ??? I have no quota on my server. And the administrator haven't this problem. PHP 5.3 upgrade problems

Hi all, I have recently moved a site from my test server (which is running php 5.2) to the live server (which is running php 5.3). Since doing this, a lot of pages are throwing error messages about a function expecting a reference argument. I have done enough research to get some idea of what the basic problem is, but still don't feel that I understand it well enough to dive in to trying to patch the code. So far all I have done is add something to the template to suppress warnings for non-admin users. If anyone can help with this, I would appreciate it - the site is going public in two days and I still have some other things I need to sort out before then. Does anyone know of any well written explanations on-line of how this issue has come about and how it affects drupal? Or if someone on the list could take the time to explain to me what the issue is, that would be good as well. cheers, andy

Create Content and Permissions

Gents, I'm new to the list and would appreciate help from anyone who has seen these problems before. 1) I cannot get rid of the Create Content menu entry as part of my secondary menu. 2) I seemed to have lost access to all permissions. Therefore User Management -> Permissions issues the following : This webpage is not available.
