Creating a node and taxonomy term in one action

I would be grateful if someone can let me know of a way to solve a problem I am facing. I manage a local sporting team's website. The site has what most team/club sites would have: - A list of up coming events (e.g. "Regional Finals 2009", "End of season party", etc). - Image gallery - News section The list of upcoming events is a simple view of a custom Content Type ("event"). (Fields are name, date, description.) The image gallery is a view of another CCK type, with imagefield. The news section is a view of another CCK type ("news"). So far nothing very complicated. I would like to be able to assign taxonomy to images and news so that items can be tagged to the event that the photo was taken at (or news story was written about). This is easy to do - just create a vocabulary and add new terms to it every time there is a new event. But the problem I face is that when a new event is scheduled, the user who adds the event to the site, will have to do two things: - Create the event node. - Add a new term to the event vocabulary. And the problem is that my users will forget to this second step. So uploaded images will never be taged to the event. Is there a way that I can create a new node *and* add the new taxonomy term in one process flow? And can the two be managed (so that if the event title is corrected, the term should be corrected as well.) fckeditor does not work anymore

Hi all. I don't know when it happened , but my fckeditor does not works. I receive this error (in the firebug console): FCKeditor_OpenPopup is not defined I have searched the fckeditor javascript inclusion in my page.tpl.php but there is not it. Other module that uses javascript works. I'm using acquia drupal theme. Any help ? CVS Update Throws Error

Just getting around to updating my sites to 6.14 and on the first one I got this error: cvs [update aborted]: cannot open .new.default.s: Permission denied > This was the command I was using: cvs update -r DRUPAL-6-14 -dP It looks like it was in the middle of working on the the sites/default directory at the time. I ran update.php without errors and the site seems fine. Did CVS finish the update? How can I tell? If it didn't, what is the problem and how do I fix it. Thanks, Shai

Critique of request for help, please?

I've read several FAQ-type documents that detail the best way to ask for help on usenet, mailing lists, and the like. Yet I still seem to do a poor job of describing issues I encounter. So I'm going to link a request for help I made and ask for specifically what I've missed, so that in the future perhaps I can make my questions more friendly to those that might be able to answer them. http://drupal.org/node/387900 My guess is that there are four possible reasons that I haven't received a response. They are (in decreasing order of likelihood): 1) I have provided incomplete information. 2) The question's answer is so obvious that no one bothers to answer it 3) The question is difficult enough that no one can answer it 4) No one ever looks at the Location Views issue queue There's really nothing I can do about possibilities #3 and #4. If #2 is correct then perhaps a new career path is in order. So I'm hoping that I am woefully inept at asking for help. I have included a clear example of the problem, a link to a description of a similar problem (and the patch I applied), descriptions of the ways I've tried to work around the problem, and why those methods failed. Please tell me: what can I do differently to get a better chance of a response? Thank you, Steve

filtering views by user

Hi all, I'm learning views and have created a page display with an exposed filter that allows users to choose between two types of content: user blogs or user profiles. The page display path is set to /user/% so that it displays on each users page. I'd like to know how to filter the views so that the blog shown is specific to the user who's page one is currently on. e.g. the exposed filter on super_user's page only selects from super_user's blogs or profile, while the exposed filter on user2's page only select from user2s' blogs or profile. While searching around drupal.org, I found some mention of using CCK fields in my content types to reference a user, but I'm not sure how it would all come together, or if its even relevant? FAPI: Elements

I'm need a Form Element that I can slot into several forms in this case for selecting location details but the theory runs for anything. Ideally I want to AHAH enable it so that I can check and update it as they fill the form in pro to submission. So Far I've worked out. Build the element in a #process callback (where previous values are in #default_value) Check it in a #element_validate callback (where previous values are in $element (the first parameter) but if you need to update or add anything change the second parameter that is passed by ref. The only thing I've really got on using AHAH is to get the whole form to build and work correctly without it then add it afterwards. But I can see how I get just the element to use AHAH and then be able to just drop it into any form later. I've looked at most of the documentation and it seams a bit complex. I'm using Drupal 6 Any help or guidance would be much appreciated. Peter

File linking question

Good morning, everyone, Is there a way to force Drupal to link to a document on our network file system, without actually uploading it into the Drupal database? We have hundreds of documents that we'd like to link to (this is for our employee intranet site, not an external site) rather than having to upload each one.
