Using Banner Of Multiple Images

I need to take an existing site and duplicate it in Drupal and I have a graphic placement question. I'll be using Zen as a starting point. The banner for the existing site is one logo cut up into three parts. Since Drupal only allows one logo to be specified, how do I get the three files into the header? Do I have to combine them into one big graphic? Do I need to directly modify page.tpl.php and add the <img> tags? Or is there an easier (and/or better) way? Thanks. Steve

To those who asked and others interested, I've just committed a patch http://drupal.org/node/234305 after a couple of days worth of debugging and testing. I have not fully tested this module yet but I do know that basic filtering and actions work for the user maintenance. I do not know if the administrative notifications work yet. Comments are welcome to the above issue node. Please note that since I've just committed the change the development snapshot will happen later tonight during the normal cron run. So if you want to install the file watch http://drupal.org/node/180199 for a newer date. Enhancements over the 1.x version include greater control over the filtering. You can choose a range of operations other than 'is equal to'. And for those of you where this is important I know that you can now choose an Access of Never. multisite OR many drupals

Hello, We're in the process of setting up Drupal to be used for one week in a classroom setting. There will be 10 teams each creating their own site with Drupal. Performance is not a big issue for us. We've messed around with a multisite installation and have had some problems. We're now thinking of going a different route, and I''ve set up our server as follows: 10 Drupal code bases each with it's own mysql database: /var/www/html/drupal1 /var/www/html/drupal2 /var/www/html/drupal3 ... /var/www/html/drupal10 Additionally, there are 10 aliases in httpd.conf : Alias /drupal1 /var/www/html/drupal1 Alias /drupal2 /var/www/html/drupal2 Alias /drupal3 /var/www/html/drupal3 ... Alias /drupal10 /var/www/html/drupal10 Considering our classroom environment, and that performance is not a priority, will this setup be OK? Any comments from those with experience administering Drupal would be greatly appreciated. Layout

Hi, What's the protocol for layout and design with Drupal? Should I place formatting items in the css file, or is it alright to do the formatting in Drupal? For example, in the footer section I have the organizations address and phone number. If I want to bold and center the address and phone number, can I just add <center> address </center> in the footer section, or should the <center> tag go into the css file? Thanks, Troy

Forcing username pattern

Hi folks. I've a question that's come up on a number of my sites now. I'd like to be able to disallow users from selecting their own usernames, ever, even on signup. Instead, I want to expose various profile fields (or custom fields via form-alter if necessary) and then base the username off of that. E.g., first intial and last name, all lower-case. Tracking user IP addresses for duplicate accounts

Hi again! Another challenge I have is on one site, users keep signing up multiple times with more than one account. That's a problem, as multiple accounts is against our site's TOS since we frequently have votes that are one-vote-per-account. Our legacy system that we killed when we moved to Drupal had built-in IP logging every time a user logged in, so we could go in and check IP addresses in case we suspected a duplicate user. We could also see the IP address someone signed up from, and match that against any recently logged IPs. Advanced User module

Last one for tonight, I promise... I am looking into the AdvUser module[1], which seems like a nice utility for searching by user profile fields (among other things). However, its project page says "do not use the 5.x-1.x version", but there's also a 2.x version branched. The issue queue doesn't look especially active. Does anyone have any experience with it, good or bad? First Term of every taxonomy missing from views filters

Hi I have a problem with my Views. I created a custom view and set up a filter for a few vocabularies however the first term of each vocabulary is missing from the exposed and hidden filters. I'm not sure what is wrong, anyone have any ideas? Thank you very much. -- Chris McCreery

Clean URLs

Hi, I'm setting up a drupal site on a server that looks like it's a shared host (vhost). Instead of having /var/www/ for my directories, I have /httdocs . I do not have access to the .httpd.conf file for any apache files. The user interface on this server is Plesk, which I'm still getting use to. I set up my database, and installed drupal, but I can't get clean urls activated. Clear urls does pass the test, but when I click on the enable button, the selection jumps back to disable, therefore, I cannot save the enable clean url settings. What recommendations do you have? Unable To Access Admin Area After Move

I have a 5.x site using CiviCRM that was developed under a subdomain (i.e. dev.example.com), and we took it live, so it is now at www.example.com. Everything seems to be fine other than the fact that I am unable to access the Admin area. When I try in FF, I get "www.example.com has sent an incorrect or unexpected message: Error Code: -12263", and in Internet Exploder I get the standard "This page cannot be displayed." I can log in and get to other parts of the site just fine. I searched for that error, and it appears to be specific to SSL. I'm using SSL on this site (for CiviCRM and Ubercart), but I shouldn't be using it just to get into the Drupal Admin area, should I? Thanks. Steve
