Customize CCK Input Form

I found the Contemplate module to customize CCK output, and this is PERFECT for me. But I also need to customize how the form looks when the user creates the content. Is this possible? Thanks.

Theme block question

Hi, The site I'm currently working on needs several blocks. The first additional block should be placed above the header. The second tiny block just above the footer. I also want two columns in the content area. Is there a theme that offers these blocks? Or is there a better way to implement this design? Thanks for reading the question. -- Sudheer. S

Contemplate module / CCK - thumbnail pics for teaser view?

Hello, I am using the latest version of Contemplate.module to create custom teasers for a couple of content types that I have create with CCK. My question is: Is there a way to add an image field in CCK while building your content type, where users can upload a picture, and then have this picture automatically resized to a thumbnail size, in order to use it in your teaser built with Contemplate.module? Notification of New Content

For 5.2, is there a way to notify the admins of any new content? My 'Business Listings' site allows users to create accounts and then create a listing, which will be unpublished until the admins review it. I found this: http://drupal.org/project/user_register_notify which notifies on creation of user account. Is there such a module which notifies on new content creation? Seems trivial to write anyhow, if I knew the correct hook. :) Thanks.

Business Listings

I want to allow businesses to create listings on my site. We have a set of custom questions and also categories. I then want to display the listings by category. We of course will need to approve of them before they are published. I see the Simple classified ads module (http://drupal.org/project/ed_classified). Can this do what I need? Any tips on how to custom the fields there? Thanks, Fred

Sorry Folks someone (aka fabio) said my earlier request under the same subject line was muddy apols Soon we plan to make content-wire live on Drupal http://s23169.gridserver.com/ Here we have activated the module (I presume tagadelic or something) that lets us click from a story directly to the 'bookmark this story' on certain social bookmarking sites However, I would like to add more of these to the existing ones such as google bookmarks, or many others that are not in there yet a) how can I do that b) If I cant, can someone work with me to add that fuctionality I am the site admin, but not the developer - whos says is not sure how we can do that hope this is clearer thanks PDM > -- Paola Di Maio School of IT www.mfu.ac.th *********************************************

Planning upgrade

I am planning to go from 5.1 to 5.2. Do I really have to take the site off-line? I am having a major problem synching with local site. The server time stamp seems to be totally off. Both Transmit and Dreamweaver8 tries to download a bunch of files those which are known to be already synched, while both of them are missing more important files such as modules. Is there any better option for OSX10.4? I spent entire day to delete a few thousands duplicated images. This has been a nightmare. I do have a stage directory on the server but synching with the live directory seems to be almost impossible so I have abandoned it. My ISP only gives FTP access but not Terminal access. left and right sidebar naming consistency

Can someone explain if there's a reason why the left and right sidebar code for templates doesn't function in the same way the rest of the templating system does? there is, in phptemplate.engine the following code which defines the regions: function phptemplate_regions() { return array( 'left' => t('left sidebar'), 'right' => t('right sidebar'), 'content' => t('content'), 'header' => t('header'), 'footer' => t('footer') ); } Left side is how you refer to it in code, right side is how it displays in admin screens. makes perfect sense. If you want to add custom regions, you put a block like this in your template.php: function mytheme_regions(){ return array( 'left' => t('left sidebar'), 'right' => t('right sidebar'), 'content' => t('content'), 'header' => t('header'), 'footer' => t('footer'), 'frontnews' => t('home page news'), 'frontteaser' => t('home page teaser'), 'frontlocate' => t('home page locate'), 'subnav' =>t('Sub Navigation') ); } Works the same way. got it. now when i first started working through this i didn't understand any of that and used other templates and the pro book to start my template, including my left nav, so I didn't realize this inconsistency until now when I went to drop in a right nav: <?php print $right ?> nope, doesn't work. I double checked my code (yes, it says right) and ran a whole lot of tests before I realized that my left nav was put in differently as well: <?php print $sidebar_left ?> and finally tried <?php print $sidebar_right ?> which works. While my problem is solved my frustration at this sudden inconsistency in the system design has not gone away. I'm hoping someone can help me out by explaining why this exists like this. Why does it not say sidebar_left and sidebar_right in the regions definition? If those two are special and built into the system why are left and right in the region definition at all but don't show up as a duplicate option in the blocks list? Inquiring minds would like to know. .s

Block on top of header

Hi List, I'm a looking for a way to insert a block on top of the header. This block will contain text links, a background image and the search form field. Is there a theme independent module that can help me build this? Any hint or pointer is appreciated. --Sudheer. S

white screen of death

I've been building a site (ecommerce, simplenews, mailmime, and a bunch of others) on our development server. I transfered it to the live host today and imported the db. When I pulled up the site I get a white screen. We've loaded up sites on this host before without a problem, so there is some strange thing going on with this new site. I really don't want to rebuild the site from scratch on the host. It'll take days. So, is there some way I can debug this? See exactly where it's failing? The hosts errors logs show nothing. I tried some insert "echo" commands here and there to do some rudimentary tracing. It's failing when "print theme('page', $return);" is called in index.php. I sprinkled some echos in phptemplate.engine but I became overwhelmed because I don't know exactly how the functions get called, in what order, etc. Any help would be appreciated.
