[drupal-support] Amazon Tools Module

Hi all, I installed the amazon tools in my drupal site, but i am unable to get it working. I am running drupal 4.6.2 and the installed version of amazon tools is: /* $Id: amazon.module,v 1.7.2.2 2005/06/25 13:14:12 prometheus6 Exp $ */ There are two issues with this module: 01. When a ISBN number is given to add a related item in a node, it keeps saying "This ASIN is not valid" 02. When doing a search in amazon item import, i am getting the following error: Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /var/www/html/modules/amazontools/amazon.php4.inc on line 224 03. another question: Do i need the "search" module enabled for the above to work? Right now my search module is disabled. Thanks for all the help... Paul

Michael, This seems like the database upgrade didn't complete correctly. Have you run upgrade.php that comes with the latest Drupal, and chose the correct upgrade options, depending on the exact version of your old site? [drupal-support] upgrade problem

I'm attempting to upgrade from drupal-4.6.0 to drupal-4.6.2. I've followed the update procedures and can get my site up. Hi, I hate to bug the list again for this one, but I was really hoping that someone has a functional customization of the search form implemented anywhere? I can adapt it myself, I just need the basic idea. I couldn't figure that out from the drupaldocs. Hi, This functionality is easily done with statistics.module. They will not, however, adapt it that way, because, as far as I can tell, you'd require two additional queries per page (one to view and one to save) the counter information per page, as it is saved per node and not per page. This means that a customization of statistics.module to do this will probably never reach mainstream as you would hope. The only answer is a separate module, but that won't be mainstream either, as it will not be included into the Drupal core, as far as I can tell. Writing a module that can display this information in a block is pretty simple, if you borrow a bit of code from statistics.module and modify it somewhat, you can create what you're looking for. If there is sufficient interest in this, I'd take up this task - it would be good to increase my coding skills somewhat! Rahul, A site hit counter is not particularly useful, especially with Drupal, as it has so much more capabilities. I suggest you take a look at statistics.module (included with default installation - just needs configuaration). Enable all the features you require for statistics, and you will see a "hit counter" on every piece of content on the site, instead of every page. Remember to give all users the appropriate permissions to view the counter information. If this is still not doing what you want to do and you want a normal script that just increases once for each time a page on your site is opened, I can build it into your theme for you. Hi, I have implemented the search hook in a module I am writing, but I was wondering if someone has an example of the search implementation where I can search for more than one field. Currently I can "Enter your keywords" and that's it. I want to choose from a bunch of fields and adapt the query to match the selection. [drupal-support] Forum options

Right now I have two problems with the forums. By default if someone creates a new forum topic the node gets published on the home page. I obviously do not want this and would like to disable the option for the normal users. I tried to search in the options but I haven't found a solution. The second problem is about being able to set different permissions on one of the forums so that only moderators can post. Is this a possibility in Drupal? -HRose / Abalieno

after installing drupal, directories and files underneath where it exists are now inaccessible. i get redirected to a drupal provided "page not found" page even tho the URLs are there for sure. is there a setting somewhere to change this behavior? it seems drupal is intercepting all calls, and only showing pages that exist in its hierarchy of nodes etc. /dc
