I did a lot of reading before starting the Drupal 5 to Drupal 6 move over. The D6 site came online right away so that was a good sign. Yet a lot of things went wrong. So many small things, but I have been able to fix most of them. There are still a few things I have no idea to fix.
All the books are g, g, gone. The list of books is empty. If I try to rebuild one of the books, I get this error:
user warning: Duplicate entry '168' for key 2 query: INSERT INTO book (nid, mlid, bid) VALUES (168, 7708, 168) in MySite.com/modules/book/book.module on line 466.
I have been googling but to no avail. I have looked at its MySQL database but I am no programmer. I don't know where to look at. Any help would be appreciated.

How did update.php go? Did you turn off (disable) contributed modules first? Then enable them a few at a time and rerun update.php. I've run into dependencies that required reordering the enabling sequence .

Thank you for your reply. I am yet to learn how to use Drush. I guess my googling didn't hit these because of insufficient keywords to these thread. Anyway, I bit the bullet. I deleted all the book entries form the database and rebuilt each books one by one. I just finished them all. Phew.
I knew upgrading DP5 to DP6 isn't going to be easy, but never expected taking 5 days!
