Is it possible to achieve this with drupal. Something like this http://www.mywedding.com/free-wedding-websites
I have looked at http://drupal.org/node/993166 , but using aegier will require a dedicated server. I need something smaller.
You could try the Subdomain module (http://drupal.org/project/subdomain) though I think that, in a case like this, you're going to have to be able to modify DNS or configuration files no matter what you do.

You don't need to go full dedicated server. Aegir can run on cloud or VPS.
