I had the same issue and someone recommended going directly to the page with the checkbox at http://www.yoursite.com/admin/config/search/clean-urls. This bypasses the check page. Once you enable it from that link you should be all set. Chris

Hey Grant,
Since you adjusted the 'max_allowed_packet' make sure that you restart your Web Server. If you already did and still no effect, try running the "update.php" file of Drupal and see if that helps.

Hi,
I've uploaded Drupal Commerce Kickstart and it is working as I would expect it to. The problem is clean URLs.
This is on a new VPS and I have no other sites on this server that use mod rewrite. As a result I do not know if this is an Apache config issue or something to do with Drupal or Kickstart. I have KickStart setup on a local dev box and clean URL's was not an issue so I assume this might be an Apache config issue.
I modified the Apache config changing AllowOverride to ALL.
I've verified the .htaccess file that came with Kickstart is in the root directory and have verified the permissions are 644.
When I go into the Admin panel to check for clean URL's it fails.
Any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot this issue?
Thanks a bunch in advance!!

Must be a server config issue. I was unable to access that path. Must be a problem with mod rewrite or my .htaccess file

Simple test - put some random characters at the top of your .htaccess file and save it and try to access your site. If you get a server error, then Apache is reading .htaccess. If not, then Apache isn't even parsing .htaccess. Just don't forget to remove your jumbled characters after the test.

Thanks!! Great idea. I did as you said. No errors. I think maybe Apache was installed incorrectly. I had to fix PHP as well. Not sure what is going on with this VPS.

Concept...
I have a custom content type which included a few text fields and a couple of video fields.
Using Views and Quicktabs I wanted to switch between fields on the display page. And in a block on the right list all the videos.
The problems...
When I use views to make a block, where the view previews correctly and works as a page in a block there is nothing. Not even the block heading.
OK so I compromise and put the video index in one of the tabs.
New problem...
When logged out instead of the tabs working as they do correctly when logged in the content is being added under the existing context. I assume this is a permissions issues but have no idea where.
Help with these issues would be much appreciated.
Then I have a knowledge issue of having no clue how to connect the index view to the paged tabbed view.
Normally what I do for these concepts is bring up the whole node then use jQuery to hide and manipulate what I want to view. I can revert to doing that if Views & Quicktabs is never going to work.
Anyone out there feel that the Quicktabs approach is the one to follow?

Try going to http://www.yoursite.com?q=admin/config/search/clean-urls
IF you're comfortable doing php you can print_r or dpm $_GET to see if anything is getting in. I haven't been following the chain to see if you're sure mod_rewrite is enabled.

Must be a server config issue. I was unable to access that path. Must be a problem with mod rewrite or my .htaccess file
Thanks!!

I had the same issue and someone recommended going directly to the page with the checkbox at http://www.yoursite.com/admin/config/search/clean-urls [7].

Keith

Have you verified that mod_rewrite is enabled?
