I am looking for a *best* way to let users upload a PDF or Word Doc and link to it all from CKEditor in the WYSIWYG Editor for Drupal 7.
I think this can be done in the media module but I do not see how.
Ideally they would upload the document, enter the link text and a link would be made automatically.
Thanks, Steve
Use a core file field in D7 and then the insert module to make linking easier:
http://drupal.org/project/insert

If you insert a link(from the toolbar) you can upload from the same popup. That's what I typically do. *

Insert modules works very well and is even cleaner than it was in D6 so that is good. I just have to have the user change the name for the link but that is OK.
Thanks, Steve

For D6, the Insert module works well for this. http://drupal.org/project/insert.
I see there is a D7 version, but haven't tried it yet.

I've been using the D7 version since January and haven't had a problem.
