Toni Gil's connections could be useful to you: After accepting Toni Gil's invitation, check Toni Gil's connections to see who else you may know and who you might want an introduction to. Building these connections can create opportunities in the future.
I suggest that blanket invitations like this get the user automatically dropped from the list. Nancy

Hi am sorry, I didn't know that I was sending to the support list. Linkedin just ask to scan my email for connections, inadvertently I said yes but didn't know I have the support list. Sorry Aissatou Diallo Sent from my BlackBerry® on the MetroPCS Network

Yes, beware of LinkedIn's email scan. Also, IIRC, you have to manually go into LinkedIn and cancel the invite or it will send periodical "reminders" to those folks it emailed that haven't accepted yet. Maybe that's no longer the default setting though.

This sort of stuff happens. Several times I have received emails from "xyz" site asking that I join because I'm an associate of "abc" person, usually followed up by an apology from "abc" for having mistakenly allowed it to happen. I'm not in favor of taking people off the list because of such things.
Sending emails from member@linkedin.com to the equivalent of /dev/null does sound like a good idea to start with.
Aissatou apologized.

I think all those "post to my friends" tools are bad because
a) you generally don't know what's being sent to them b) you certainly don't know who it's being sent to
I've seen it go wrong so many times

This has happened to me before (as in, I was the culprit) and its embarrassing. Sometimes its not even that u wanna lazily send out invite to everyone, its just that ur contact list is so heavy that it take so much time to load that u are just cancelling the operation and linkedin process it as yes ( yeah bad luck and exactly what happened to me )
Can't we just send all emails from member@linkedin.com to black hole without ever being relayed to subscribers.
Maybe I am more empathetic to situation as I have been in one but I think if we have the tools that are smart enough, why not use them specially for one of those unlucky moments.

Everything is acceptable in moderation free lists like *.drupal.org and we don't need to bother about others opinion.

Well, that's not true at all. Or were you being sarcastic?
Sorry for hijacking the thread.
I'm sarcastic as long as this list allows flashing-and-pink-comic-sans-html-formatted e-mail. List moderator has a choice for allowing invites, let's encourage it.

Toni screwed up. LinkedIn encourages users to send boilerplate invites to everyone in their address book, which is a bad idea on several levels.
But spamming the list wasn't intentional. I'd allow everyone one mistake, for which they apologize:

rather than one and you're out. Particularly on a support list, where there will be less-experienced participants who may need coaching in netiquette.
