Are there any reports or info on the good and or bad of google analytics module for monitoring Drupal 7 site/s. thanks in advance

What exactly are you looking to do with Google Analytics? If you are not doing anything fancy other than adding the tracking code you might be better off adding the code through a preprocess hook or right into a template file. The module allows passing of additional values to google analytics from Drupal without writing custom code for GA although that is not too difficult to do as well.
