I am not sure I can find this on the drupal site, so I am asking here. can I get read of the read more link and the add new comment link too on the trimped version of the stories on my main page? another thing is can I just list links to other content on my main page without a trimped version of that story? thank you.

There's also http://drupal.org/node/36008 (which I wrote, based on how it's done in Bryght's theme) which is specifically for extracting 'read more' link and placing and styling it within the text instead of at the bottom within the links.
(Guess that and http://drupal.org/node/26408 could be merged somehow huh?)
