Dear all,
I'm using D6 to build the catalog of a digital library. I've created a type content to represent books and taxonomy vocabularies to represent authors and publishers. Now when adding a node for a book, I have to enter author and publisher first, and then all the other fields such as title, presentation, etc. I would like to be able to re-arrange the field order so that I can enter title first, then author, then publisher, etc. It is not possible yet because there seems to be no weight associated with taxonomy tags which seem to be handled in a different manner.
Could anybody suggest a solution, please ?
Thanks so much in advance for any help, Sherab.

Dear Nancy,
Thank you so much for your response. I think I already knew that module but perhaps I misunderstood its use. I understand that it adds the ability to associate fields with taxonomy terms, but how will that then allow me to re-order the taxonomy fields in the node submission form ?
Thanks, Sherab.
The fields are weighted and you can reorder them in the admin form. That only allows the fields to be ordered within the taxonomy section; CCK allows you to reorder the taxonomy section as a whole.

Hello again Nancy, thanks for responding so promptly.

okay, so if there are several taxonomies that apply to one content type it is possible to choose in which order they are specified in the node submission field.
CCK allows you to reorder the taxonomy section as a whole.
Yes, and I'd like to be able to do more. For instance I'd like to be able to have one non-taxonomy field, one taxonomy field, another non-taxonomy field, etc.
Is that possible ?
Cheers, Sherab.
No, all the taxonomy fields are kept together. To do the mix-and-match, you would need to theme the form yourself. Possibly a hook_form_alter() could do this with form element weights, but might get hard to maintain.
