Hello all. I'm hoping that someone can help or direct me of which way I should go here, but I have just, a few days ago, upgraded my server to ubuntu13.10 and in turn of that, upgraded all of it's packages and that will be including, apache2.4 and php and mysql. the problem that I'm having right now is that I can't get my drupal instance to open, meaning that it's not showing anything… if you go to http://kjscradio.com/blog, it doesn't show anything. so, then, I have tried completely removing drupal from my server and reinstalling it and still no dice. does anyone know what could be the cause of this? could some .php extensions gotten changed on me and I have to reapply the requirements? thanks.
One key difference would be that your PHP version would be PHP 5.4 by now. Extensions could be an issue as well. Try checking your apache error log.
Thanks Anoop

okay. I have .php errors displayed on and here's what it says. " Fatal error: Call to undefined function json_encode() in /home/kjsc/web/www/blog/includes/common.inc on line 5000". Keep in mind, this happens when I go to http://kjscradio.com/blog and that comes up… do I need to change something in that common.inc file? or do I just need to worry about the extensions. note, I have looked at the extensions and it looks like everything is enabled and ready to go. but yeah. and… also, this is from the newly installed .tar package. Uncomment the 'extension=json.so' line in your php.ini file.

That's the problem. Been reading about a lot of PHP package changes in 13.10 and a lot of upset people out there. My suggest would be to hold off on upgrading in the future. It saves a lot of headaches. If you run Ubuntu as your desktop and want to keep that up to date, then run LAMP in a virtual machine.
