After upgrading PHP to 4.4.1, my site's homepage loads, but all other pages are blank and I can't login. I restarted apache and mysql, but got the same result. It's Drupal 4.6.3, Apache 2.0.55, Mysql 4.1.15, running on FreeBSD 5.4.
I've copied the errors from the apache log below. If there is other information I can provide let me know.
I downgraded my PHP ports to 4.4.0 and the site came back up.
Thanks for any help or pointers.

Thanks for the reply Bèr. If I missed something please let me know.
I used portupgrade, which completed with no errors. I checked the PHP site and didn't see any special instructions on the site or in the changelog. FWIW, the portupgrade procedure worked fine on a similar server (same versions of FreeBSD, Apache, and PHP) that uses Squirrelmail instead of Drupal.
b) sure you got all files copied?
I'm trusting that port maintainer got it right. Apache worked after the upgrade, as did a phpinfo() test page, and the home page for the Drupal site.
c) your permissions are back to teh way they were (that means rwx for the apache user, typically named ww-data)?
No change in permissions, and the apache user "www" has rwx on the /usr/local/www/data directory.

a file cannot be opened for some reason. I suggest you look if tha tfile exists at all, and that it has the right permissions.

sites/default/settings.php exists exists and the www user has rwx permissions.
I checked the other files mentioned in the error log and those also exist with the proper permissions.
It certainly seems as though some change from php 4.4.0 to 4.4.1 is causing drupal to not find/open several files. Fortunately, the downgrade to 4.4.0 was smooth.
Thanks.
Ron
Hi Ron,
One of my hosts have upgraded to 4.4.1 and I'm running two Drupal 4.6.3 sites on it with only a problem in the article module. So it must not be a problem inherit with PHP but the install. Sorry I can't help more on that.

Thanks Tim. That definitely makes it sound like a problem with the FreeBSD ports installation. After some patches were applied to PHP 4.4.1 in the ports tree I tried again and had the same problem. I downgraded to PHP 4.4.0 again, and the site is back up. I'll post in the ports list and see if I get an answer.

In case it will help someone else, the FreeBSD list pointed me to:
"This is a known bug with PHP4-4.4.1 and Apache2+mod_rewrite. Please see http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=35096."

You can modify the stylesheets for the theme. It's relatively easy to do.

Also, have a look at the argeebee theme. I built it solely for the sake of quickly changing colorschemes.
