In regards to my question about theming CCK input pages I found this:
How to Theme CCK Input forms http://drupal.org/node/98253
which describes how to do precisely this. :)
Next question, if I may:
What module is ideal to allow me to attach images to CCK nodes, including creating thumbnails (which one can click to see the full version)?
Thanks, Fred
imagecache is what you need.
Also look at thickbox (for js expansions of images) and views (which can handle both imagecache images and thickbox handling).

This doesn't seem to be all that I need. Perhaps I wasn't clear.
What I have is a CCK form that allows visitors to add content to our site--we then review it and publish it. We want to allow them to also add images when they create new nodes--up to 3 images per node. I want those images to be thumbnails which can be clicked to show a large version.
Is this possible? If so, how?
Thanks.

Image field is the missing element. THe above recommendations still apply.
Laura
I really think you need a copy of imagefield and imagecache to pull this off. Imagefield lets you create as many image fields in a CCK content as you want, and imagecache controls the thumbnails and scaling. I don't have a ton of experience with this combination, but it's the recommended way....

Forgive me to intrude this thread. Image Field and ImageCache are great, but they are still short of my needs.
Do you know how to hack so image on the node will popup to the original size? I set thumbnail to teaser, and preview to body, but can't find the way to show the original.
I also would like to have image thumbnail in teaser to be linked to the node, which I can't find the way either. Which tpl file do I need to start looking for these two functions I need?

Thickbox will give you this ability. It plays nice with CCK, imagecache and views.

By editing your node-yourcontentype.tpl.php file to call up each field individually, you can do this for your teaser view.

For some reason, I can't make it work. The node image has no hyperlink. On the other hand, my video clip thumbnail is the only one that calls thickbox even though I don't want it to do that.
The thickbox doc seems to suggests I should see options when inserting image, so I created a new test domain with bare 5.2, and installed Image module and thikbox module only. I still get no control option. Any idea?

Hm, I can't find myContentType.tpl.php file in my directory. Is this something I need to create from a scratch to hack the hooks? I did take a look at Contemplate but, besides module specific APIs aren't listed at the API site (or I should say the basic API concept is still beyond me), I couldn't figure out how to make image hyperlink-able. Googling also returns nothing so far.

I found this:

It's great.

PS: Thank you VERY MUCH to Laura and David for writing. I am working on implementing this.

I finally got this working. Thanks for encouragement. I am happier than ever.
The only question is, when would I have time to redo/go over 1,600 images on my site :_(
