Looking for a maintainer for attachment and filemanager
Dear all, I'm looking for somebody willing to maintain Attachment and / or Filemanager. Attachement <http://drupal.org/node/10245> Filemanager <http://drupal.org/node/10243> Latest commit by the maintainer March 1 (2006) and a long issues queue lead me to believe the modules are unmaintained. I've send an email to ccourtne on Aug 13, but have not received a reply (and I don't want to wait longer). Everyone interested, please mail me or reply to this message and I'll make you the project owner. Regards, Heine Deelstra
I don't know if I can take over the module but I'd be willing to go in and clean up the queue if you can't get a hold of ccourtne. I know that when I was using the module he was elusive. I'd committed some fixes back before you had to be specifically granted CVS access. andrew On 9/5/06, Heine Deelstra <hdeelstra@gmail.com> wrote:

Moshe, a maintainer is needed anyway to create (or manage the contributors to create) a migration path for a new/different module. Gabor

On top of that, core filesystem is very limited, inflexible, and (sorry) badly coded. filesystem module looks fabulous, codewise, featurewise and architecturewise (http://www.darrelopry.com/docs/filesystem), but as the maintained says: not ready yet. http://drupal.org/project/filesystem no release either. So lets PLEASE not make the flexinode mistake again: let us not drop a popular system in favour of something that might, possibly, one day, become just as cool. I am not volunteering to take over (no time) but I think saying "no don't volunteer because there are better solutions at the horizon" is a bad thing too. Let us please encourage some form of continuity and backwards compatibility for the users that don't develop (for) Drupal! Bèr -- [ End-user Drupal services and hosting | Sympal.nl ]

First off, sorry, I didn't intend to reply to the devlist. I wouldn't advocate updating it for 5.0, IMHO it's better than what's provided by core in 4.6 and 4.7. There are quite a few people using the module so it should be maintained. andrew

Sure give people A choice. I've used attachment and filemanager. There are probably others using it. It's not one for the orphan list I would hope.
