IRC Hacking Files

My hosting company has twice recently claimed there are IRC hacking files in one of my accounts which uses Drupal. Has anyone had this experience or have any idea how they could be uploaded into my account like that? Is there a security hole in Drupal that could cause this? Rob

hello everybody. I looked alot in the module pages at drupal.org for a web links directory module but found none. some forum threats do mention such a module, anybody have a better idea? what i want to achieve is to publish pages of links in various catigories and to give users the ability to suggest their favorite websites too. thanks in advance. regards, mohammed al-shar' www.mystop.net

multiple menu bugs? Or a classic case of PEBKAC?

Hi, Possible bug 1: If you use the menu to customize the items, and set a menu so that users may control whether they can see it or not, and then saving your user account after that, doesn't seem to work. Here is the recipe: 1. Create a new menu (let's call it "advanced"). 2. Create a menu item under this menu (let's call it "home" and link it to index.php). 3. Enable the block in block administration. 4. Configure the block to be NOT shown by default but allow individual users to display it. 5. Edit your own account and check the box next to the advanced menu. Possible bug 2: I am not sure where to file this one. Is it a BlueMarine issue or is it a PHPTemplate issue, or what is this? When you go to the menu, and you DELETE the Primary Links menu, it still displays in the header section of my site. Typically not everyone would delete this menu, so it is possible that I am the first one to notice this, but I only deleted it becauuse I could not find a way to disable it. I am not sure whether these are bugs or not. I have searched the bug list, and couldn't find anything (although I only had a few minutes to do so - our power is going out in 25 minutes or so). If these are indeed bugs, could someone please file then, as our power will be out for the whole day, and I am not going to be back here until 3rd of January. Regards, Kobus

Hi! In previous version of Drupal I could split a node to have a "read more" section by using the  tag. It seems that I can't do that with Drupal CVS of 19 December (or thereabouts). Is this a bug, or did I miss something? My nodes were set up in various configurations to test this: either as "unlimited" or 2000 words length, so I doubt that is where the problem lies. Thanks for the quick response, Ted! I will look for the 4.7 release. Somehow, I got a feeling that the issue was - at least in part - due to XTemplate. But waiting for 4.7 sounds like a good idea. Drupal does not work on PHP 5.1.1?

Hello, I was using Drupal 4.6.5 on PHP 5.0.4 before and worked very well. Since there was recent security vulnerability discovered for PHP 5.0.x versions (http://secunia.com/advisories/17763/), I decided to move to 5.1.1. However, Drupal won't work anymore with PHP 5.1.1 version. Is this a known issue? Has anyone else used Drupal with PHP 5.1.1? The problem I am facing is that Drupal index page does not show up correctly after installation. It seems that the templates are not getting rendered properly. I see this on the index page: {head} {styles} {_BLOCK_.header.logo} {_BLOCK_.header.site_name} {secondary_links} {primary_links} {_BLOCK_.header.blocks} Welcome to your new Drupal-powered website. This message will guide you through your first steps with Drupal, and will disappear once you have posted your first piece of content. <etc., etc.> There is no error message in PHP or Apache log - even with error_reporting switched to E_ALL. Is this a problem with Drupal, XTemplate, or both? I am using Drupal 4.6.5, PHP 5.1.1, Apache 2.0.55 and MySQL 4.1.15. Thanks, - Nimish

Skip, I think you can upgrade directly to 4.6.5. 4.6.4 was a security release and 4.6.5 was only a maintenance release. FYI: I have confirmed that this works as designed. You can only bypass the queue if you have "administer node" permissions. If you're careful not to give out that permission, this works as Bill indicated.
