Sorry, DrupalNoob here, and this is the second reference I've seen to a sections module (presumably sections.module), yet I can't find one at http://drupal.org/project/Modules or in the default install ... I would advice you to use sections module. It allows you to use different themes for certain places on your site. [drupal-support] Problems with multiple sites, 1 codebase using subfolders

Hello, all, I've been wrestling with this one for a few days, and I feel like I must be missing something obvious. I'm trying to install multiple sites off one codebase, and have the url's appear as if the sites are in subdirectories -- ie 1. my.domain.com/dir1 2. my.domain.com/dir2 3. my.domain.com/dir3 4. etc In the past, I have set up multiple sites off one codebase with no problems -- these sites, however, were subdomains (my.domain.com, sub.domain.com, sub2.domain.com, etc) On this install, I can get a site up and running for the main domain name (my.domain.com) by setting up a directory within sites named my.domain.com with the settings.php file configured correctly. However, when I change the directory name in the sites folder to "my.domain.com.dir1" and make the necessary adjustments (change the $base_url) in the settings.php file and try to navigate to "http//my.domain.com/dir1", I receive the following error: |Warning: main(sites/default/settings.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/dwf/public_html/comp/includes/bootstrap.inc on line 642 Warning: main(): Failed opening 'sites/default/settings.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/dwf/public_html/comp/includes/bootstrap.inc on line 642 Unsupported database type| Line 642 of bootstrap.inc is the line that calls for the settings.php file, so it appears that, somehow, the settings.php file is not being seen. The site is hosted at site5, on a Linux server with Apache 1.3, php 4.4.0, and MySql 4.0.25. As always, any help/suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks, Bill.

[drupal-support] floated images inside nodes, border

I'm trying to format a page that has images within nodes (a page full of nodes that are bios for people, with thumbnail images floated left). My theme has a border around the node. If the text is short, the image protrudes from the border. Any advice on how to fix this? The page is at http://www.isna.org/about/board The image is represented as: [image:885 class=bio_image] The css has: img.bio_image { float: left; border: 1px solid black; margin: 10px; } Thanks, Cheryl

Hi, If I understand how the update system works correctly, the reason why you can't do that in one step is simple: 1. Let's say you are on Drupal 4.6.0 2. Let's say I am on Drupal 4.6.1 3. Now, if we both run the same process to update, one of us will get errors. You must first get to Drupal 4.6.1 to bring updates to par with the requirements for update 130 and 131. Each update makes changes to the database. A person on 4.5.5 will have a different looking database to a person having 4.6.0. It is virtually not possible to make all inclusive updates, as it would make the logic in the update script too complex. Hello, I wanted to download some of the mailing list archives so I can view them 'offline', but found no way. Is there a way to download them (like https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/ -> Gzip'd Text) in mbox format which I can import in my mail?

[drupal-support] Updating from 4.6.0 to 4.6.3

I'm going to upgrade tomorrow but my Drpal install never autoselect the database upgrade. Now I think the basic process is about going from 4.6.0 to 4.6.1 and then 4.6.2 and finally 4.6.3. But how the hell I upgrade the database? I don't know what to select. On the site it's written I have to do all the minor steps but this doesn't make sense. On the update.inc file the 4.6.0 version correspond to "update 129" and there are only "update 130" and 131 after that. While Drupal went through THREE revisions. If the process upgrade is just about copying over the new files and perform update 130 and 131, why the hell I cannot do that in just one step? -HRose / Abalieno

If I am not mistaken, the new archive module can do most of what you need to do. You'd have to upgrade to the latest Drupal though, AFAIK. A module that outputs a page listing each category and, under it, the title of each node and a timestamp. And maybe the possibility to style it and even the possibility to sort them by time (like showing only the nodes in a particular month). It would be hard to do? Hi, list. I want to implement this feature in a site (some files only available to authenticated users), already saw how to protect a page (node_privacy_byrole module), and how to upload files (attachment module). I already saw a discussion of the exact same problem (in http://drupal.org/node/23882), but my concern is that uploaded files are visible to anyone who knows the exact URL of the uploaded files (at least when I implemented it). Anyone can give me a direction to follow, even if a have to learn a bit of php? Cláudio

I changed the node that is shown in the index page of my website to node/1 which is a custom php page that I'd like to use for my home page. that worked just fine, except for a very annoying fact, which is even if I promote some stories/pages to the main page they simply never show. the website in question is mystop.net thank you.
