i18n links

hello listers. I have a site running drupal 4.7.4 and i18n module. I have been able to do most things with regards to i18n module, with moderate success. I attempted to display only the inactive language link with the following function in my template.php file: function nattiq_i18n_link($text, $target, $lang, $separator=' '){ $output = '<span class="i18n-link">'; if ($lang == i18n_get_lang()) { //language is active. Do nothing. } else { $output .= l($text, $target, array(), NULL, NULL, FALSE, TRUE); } $output .= '</span>'; return $output; } this works just fine, except for this wierd thing: when the english version is running the arabic link works fine, but when in the arabic version the english link just doesn't work. this is only in internet explorer, I have tried with other browsers and everything worked fine. of course, most of our visitors will be using i.e. I tried changing the theme, and the links worked good in both versions. now what work around is there so that I get the links to work in both versions with the current theme? any suggestions? the site in question is: www.nattiq.net Regards, Mohammed al-shar'

Script to change collation on all mysql tables?

A lot of people, upgrading from 4.6 to 4.7, or having phpmyadmin issues, are interested in a script or some sort of file that will change the collation to utf8_general_ci on all tables. Anyone have any ideas? I want to add it to the handbook. I think it would be pretty easy to make a sql thingy for default tables, how do you deal with prefixes? Anisa. OOO! How to have different Primary Links on different sections

Hello, I'm running Drupal 4.7.4 on this site: http://beta.menashalibrary.org/. I'm going to have three distinct areas of the site. The main part, teens, and kids. For teens and kids, I've got the module Sections setup. So, I'll have a completely different theme for each area. What I'd also like to do, is to have different Primary Links for each of these areas. Is this possible? If so, how? - jody Ps- sorry for the double post. Since my last thread got hijacked, I wanted to repost.

To remove authoring and date information go to admin >> themes >> configuration, then select the content types you don't want to display that information for. A couple basic things that have caught me out before: 1. the base url in settings.php - try either changing it or commenting it out 2. if you're using clean urls, they often won't work on the temporary url given by a new host (i.e. ~username), so things could be messed up until you've transferred the domain if you've not already done that. Problems after move to new host

Hi, I've moved a Drupal site to a new host (security problems on the old host), but I'm having problems with a few things. Primarily, I can't seem to log in. For some reason, the page /user is saying "Page Not Found". Other pages are working well using URL aliases or node/46, etc. I've copied all the files and CHMODded them the same; copied all the tables and the table data (except search_index and search_total data); changed the settings file and it is connecting to the database. I have copied .htaccess, it's all the same as it was. I also do have taxonomy_access running, but even when I went in to the system database table and turned it off, there was no change. I'm running 4.6 (part of this move is to upgrade to 4.7) and it's working just fine on the old server. I don't know if this helps to troubleshoot, but it also looks like it's not pulling in the correct logo for the theme (it's pulling /logo.png, the Drupal default) - I can figure this out once I've logged in, but don't know if it helps diagnose my main issue. Need to move drupal site to a new server.

Hello, This will be a bit long and will do my best to explain my issue. Thanks in advance to those who are willing to read and try to help. I have a running drupal site (Drupal 4.7 Civicrm 1.5) in producton. I need to import thousands of records and updates to current records. I am not willing to do this without a bit of testing first. The production site is running php4, not sure which version of apache. I have a test server running ubuntu linux, apache2 and php5. I want to copy the working site from the producton ISP to my test system. The test system web server is running and phpinfo() returns a page. Mysql is running. I have a working drupal site on this system which I installed from scratch and I am having no trouble with it. On the test system I create a new user, lets call it "drupaltest". I create a database named "drupaltest" and a mysql user names "drupaltest". I grant the mysql user "drupaltest" all the required rights. No I move the site. On the production site I tar up all the files in the working public_html directory. I untar them into the drupaltest/public_html directory on the new server. I next edit the sites/default/settings.php file to update the $db_url value to point to the new mysql database. I adjust the .htaccss as well. Now move the mysql database. On the production site I run mysqldump to build a SQL restore file. Next, on the new system I run mysql and input the restore file. The database is now on the new system. Phpmyadmin now shows a fully load database. Next, truncate the cache table. I now try to access the new site from my browser on my windows system. http://mysite.com/~drupaltest I now see: Page Not Found Looking at the code I have determined this is being returned by menu_get_menu() in includes/menu.inc Here is the call stack from right at entry of index.php Phpidex.php Call to includes/menu.inc menu_execute_active_handler() Call to menu_get_menu (returns a value) Call to $_GET (returns a value) The call to substr in the next piece of code returns $path=null while ($path && !isset($menu['callbacks'][$path])) { $path = substr($path, 0, strrpos($path, '/')); } The code next executes: Return MENU_NOT_FOUND; And we are quits. -------- Now my question. What is wrong with the way I moved the site by using tar and mysqldump. This seems like a logical method since the only thing installed on the production site was the code in public_html and the tables created in mysql. I have been at this for days. Could use some help or a few suggestions. Larry
