Not a perfect match, but if you have taxonomy terms applied to content, you can search develop custom feeds for those using the taxonomy browser module. Sounds like a good feature request for the search module though? Is there a module out there that will let me aggregate or display an RSS feed on my site which will only use items in that RSS feed which match some sort of regular expression or other filtering criteria? I don't want to display all of the items in the feed, only those 10% or so that match my desired topics. Thanks, ..chrisxj

teaser trimming sometimes not working

Hi All, I've noticed sometimes that when the teaser gets created it doesn't apply the trimming length I have set (600 chars). It only happens sometimes, and I'm baffled to what is causing this. Possible bug: deleting a user makes that user's nodes inaccessible to anyone, including user/1

Hi, Recently I cleaned up a site that I run and deleted a user I had created just to test some things out (user/2). There were a few nodes in the database that were marked with uid 2. Logged in as user/1 I then found that the nodes marked as uid 2 were inaccessible - to logged-in users, anonymous users and anyone, regardless of any access rules I had created. Editing the affected nodes via PHPMyAdmin and setting the UID to 1 has restored access again. This is on the latest 4.6.5. Has anyone else found this? Tim

Image/Photo Galleries - recommendations of modules

Hi, I'm wanting to use Drupal for a site where a company will want to display it's projects. What we'd have would be photographs, image files that would contain a few photographs and some captions to explain things to the visitor obviously. I also want a tool for including image files in a posting. I've mentioned this on topics that were related but different, so I thought I'd write with a focus on using images. First is choosing the tools to use, the modules. Do I use just one? For example, I see a module for Gallery, one for Image and Image_assist, image import, and image_filter. Some of these seem like they would work not all alone but in conjunction with others. Some features that I'd like and which module seems to address it, are as follows: 1) allow batch uploading by the customer, on their site, of a zip or other compressed file, that will be unzipped by the system. 2) Allow captioning for each image 3) Add images to story/page/other nodes Qquestion 1>So, #1 and #2 seem like they would be met by either Gallery, Image or Image Import. #3 maybe is what I would need for the inline images. But should I use Image or Gallery or Image Import but not both or all three? Is there another module worth considering? I'm just trying to get an idea how to not duplicate and confuse others by having two or more modules that do the same thing. Question 2> referring to #3 above, I have image_assist installed but I'm not seeing where on the add/page or add/story forms I would see the place to include a photograph into the posting. Not to sound ignorant, but how does "Image Assist" assist a person adding a node with one or more photographs? I do see attach file but that's there without Image Assist. Please clear this up for me or help Sorry I'm so verbose... Q3> Should I consider other modules for working with or using images? How might I do this in Drupal?

Hi, Suppose I wanted to create an alumni web site using Drupal. There could be hundreds of members, aka registered users. It also would be nice to find others based on certain criteria, e.g. year of graduation, interests, location, etc. On a slightly different site one might include skills, such as a company web site, job web site or charity organizing web site. One example of what might be nice to have would be the setup of profiles in Blogger. No, I'm overall not a fan of Blogger. But by having certain criteria in one's profile you can find others with similar interests/skills, etc. 1) What is the best way to organize a list of members in an alumni web site using Drupal? 2) How do we create links to encourage a user to go somewhere to update and add to their profile? 3) One idea is to have a wiki type setup where a person could create a page for themselves and include any data that they might want to share? Would there be easier ways to organize information on members of a site? 4) The ability to search for members based on name, year of graduation. Do we create a link to create a story or page for each member's entry or search the profiles? 5) How do we search profiles for a site? I would want a direct link to do this? 6) How can I display a long list of members with truncated information from their profile, as a teaser or something like that... with a link for more information, or more details? 7) A link to display all members would be based on profiles, right? As opposed to each user/member creating another node for their listing in the alumni site? 8) like in the above example, can one list keywords, aka interests, other info. and have a link to display others that might have that or a similar keyword in their listing/profile? Forms API question

Hi, I am busy taking over maintainership of automember.module from njivy, and making great progress, but I have a simple layout issue that bothers me. See attached screenshot. Is there a way to get the items inline instead of below each other as shown in the screenshot? I have defined no '<div>' tags by means of #prefix or #suffix, so that is not the reason for this problem. Please advice, Thanks! Kobus

I need to separate what different users see when they log in. They shouldn't even be aware of other groups and or content that they don't have access to. I haven't tried it yet but here is what I'm going to try. It's maybe not the same thing you are trying to accomplish but might help somehow. Using themes I will create a separate theme for each group of users and set them as the default theme for the corresponding groups. In each theme there will be a different set of primary and secondary links but otherwise they will be the same. For example, Group 1's primary links might be "Group 1- project A", "group 1 - project b", etc. and Group 2's primary links would be "group 2- project A" etc. Set the default front page to something generic like "welcome to ..." Using the taxonomy_access module and user roles I'll control what content the different roles can view, update, etc.
