I don't think these modules will facilitate batch uploading.
Properly configured image assist should display an icon below each text
area to facilitate the adding of an image that has already been uploaded
using the "create image" menu. (i.e. creating a node of content type
image).
The icon looks a bit like the plus sign and an image.
A demo can be found with by clicking on the submit a poem link on my
drupal demo site:

Subject: [support] Image/Photo Galleries - recommendations of modules
Hi,
I'm wanting to use Drupal for a site where a company will want to
display it's projects. What we'd have would be photographs, image files
that would contain a few photographs and some captions to explain things
to the visitor obviously.
I also want a tool for including image files in a posting. I've
mentioned this on topics that were related but different, so I thought
I'd write with a focus on using images.
First is choosing the tools to use, the modules.
Do I use just one? For example, I see a module for Gallery, one for
Image and Image_assist, image import, and image_filter. Some of these
seem like they would work not all alone but in conjunction with others.
Some features that I'd like and which module seems to address it, are as
follows:
1) allow batch uploading by the customer, on their site, of a zip or
other compre ssed file, that will be unzipped by the system.
2) Allow captioning for each image
3) Add images to story/page/other nodes
Qquestion 1>So, #1 and #2 seem like they would be met by either Gallery,
Image or Image Import.
#3 maybe is what I would need for the inline images.
But should I use Image or Gallery or Image Import but not both or all
three? Is there another module worth considering? I'm just trying to
get an idea how to not duplicate and confuse others by having two or
more modules that do the same thing.
Question 2> referring to #3 above, I have image_assist installed but I'm
not seeing where on the add/page or add/story forms I would see the
place to include a photograph into the posting. Not to sound ignorant,
but how does "Image Assist" assist a person adding a node with one or
more photographs? I do see atta ch file but that's there without Image
Assist. Please clear this up for me or help
Sorry I'm so verbose...
Q3> Should I consider other modules for working with or using images?
Thanks,
Bruce

Dear all,
When i created a container for Forum,I don't need to become link name of
container itself.Unfortunetly name of container is become a link.
Please guide me.....
Dear all,
I have installed Drupal recently. But i recieve following message :
warning: mkdir(files): Permission denied in /var/www/iossd/includes/file.inc on line 86
But i know that i must change e permission.But i don't know its path.
Please help me....
I'm a newbie when it comes to drupal and MySQL, but I've been developing
software under unix/linux for 20 years. I'm running Fedora Core 4.0,
MySQL 4.1.11, and installed drupal 4.6.5. I followed all of the steps to
setup the initial user's list in MySQL, and the steps to create a drupal
mysql user and database. I have set $db_url in sites/default/setting.php
to:
Mysql://drupalusername:drupalpassword@fullhostname/drupaldatabasename
I've set:
$base_url="http://fullhostname";
Of course these values are changed for the e-mail, but they are the
correct values as the names imply.
The problem I have is when I point my browser to the drupal directory, I
get the following error in the browser window:
Access denied for user 'drupaluser'@'fullhostname' (using password: YES)
I can view a test index.html in the web root directory, so I know apache
is up and running. I get do a "mysqladmin version
--password=rootpassword" to talk to the mysqldemon and that is running.
The basic mysql test show the databases are there.
Considering I did not get any errors while configuring everything, I
must have misunderstood something. I realize there are probably hundreds
of things that I could have done wrong, but can I get some pointers or
things to try? I've double checked everything several times.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Kory
I am having a problems with editing content on my site. I select administer/content
then I selected edit for the content page that I wanted to edit.
I then tried to preview a changed version of that page/story and I get a message that 1a) "Cannot edit this page it was created by another user. " That's strange because I created the page and am logged in as me. Any idea what could cause this or what I can do? Would you need more information or to get into the account to figure this out? {{{Note: 1b was achieved by deleting the original posting or book page and recreating it. However, upon trying to edit it, I got the same error relating to "Cannot edit thsi page it was created by another user."}}}
1b) I had deleted the old version of the page and created a new version of that entry, then came back and saw the old page/old version that I deleted, was there and not the new page/revision (not really a new revision because the old was removed/deleted)
2) Ok, then I try to move that story into the book that I started. So, I selected Outline and then selected the top level entry for the appropriate book. Then I hit Submit and this is the message I got>
user error: Duplicate entry '14' for key 1
query: INSERT INTO book (nid, parent, weight) VALUES (14, 10, 0) in /home/brucew/public_html/StreetExposure/includes/database.mysql.inc on line 66.
warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/brucew/public_html/StreetExposure/includes/common.inc:384) in /home/brucew/public_html/StreetExposure/includes/common.inc on line 192.
[I have this as an attachment also, in rtf format.]
3) I thought I had a link to each page in a book, like this>
drupal_install/path
That takes me to the first page of the book and all later entries cannot have the same path, obviously. So, how can I create a link to all pages in a particular book? To put the book pages into one particular book, you just select the same parent for each page, right?
4) Can the above problems be specific to books on my site and how they are handled?
Thanks,
Bruce

I tried the changes to settings.php with no luck, but
after adding to .htaccess the two suggested lines:
php_value upload_max_filesize 15000000
php_value post_max_size 15000000
with values in bytes, it worked!

Hi -
I'm trying to upload PowerPoint files using "Attach
Files" at the bottom of a page on my site. However,
when I try to attach the files, the page reloads with
no error messages but does not have the file attached.
In the upload settings I have "ppt" files allowed, and
the files are nowhere near the max file size per
upload limit (one is 2 MB, the other is 4 MB - max
size is 10 MB), nor am I anywhere near the Maximum
total file size for the site or the Total file size
per user.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Matthew O'Malley

Hi Abhishek,
1. Once you're logged in to the administration pages, as an administrator, go here: www.yourdomain.com/?q=admin/access/roles
=> Over here you create the roles you want to define for your site, such as "webmaster" or "editor", and so on.
2. With the roles defined, you now go here: www.yourdomain.com/?q=admin/access
=> This is where you decide which user has which access on your site. You choose the accesses per module, per role.
3. Now that you have the roles defined and the appropriate access given to each role, you now go here: www.yourdomain.com/?q=admin/user
=> Here you click "edit" on each user account you want to assign the role to, for example, if you have a user "pete", click on the "edit" link of "pete" right next to the "last access" column. In the new window that opens, you can choose the roles which user "pete" must have.
I hope this helps!
