Block layouts in a specific module.

Hi All, I'm working with a custom module that needs to be able to change the order of the blocks located on the screen, but only when the module is displayed. In the rest of the system the blocks would go back to their admin-defined layout. IE, when you go to http://drupal/mymodule the blocks will be displayed in a certain order (of which each user will have their own layout). I have built a system that will allow each user to store their own layout in the database - I just need to know how to override the methods for laying out the blocks in each region (weights, actual region to display in, etc) I had a suggestion to look at the 'component' module - I've downloaded and installed it, but I cant see how that would let me do what I need. If anyone can offer any suggestions as to how this might be achieved that would be great. Cheers, James

Views filters out of the theme

Hi everyone, These days I was been searching for a solution to that. I expose 5 fields to make an "advanced search" on a view and I realize that the filters; so, it doesn't fit on the main div. I was reading views.module, but I think I'm not too familiar with drupal php code yet. Crell, on IRC, suggest me to "retheme the filter form", but I could not achieve that. I only could retheme the items of the list and could not the filters. I'd like to transform the one <tr> filter table on two <tr>'s table or make each filter a div. Error accessing pages

hi all, I had setup drupal fromt page and it was working fine until i modified the contents as admin user and set one more page as sticky . It works well as admin and once i log out ,it says you are not authorized to access this page and the front page shifts back to the default front page in drupal installation . How to display images?

Hi all, still beeing a total Drupal newby I _totally_ got lost in all the different opportunities/modules/combinations to upload/display images. My "wanna have": - authors of content (mainly 'page' and 'blog') should have a simple way to attach 0 to 5 images to their text content - they preferably should be able to just select some images from their local file system - alternatively they should be able to select images already on the server uploaded by someone else - an attached image is always the (only slightly prepared by scaling/cropping it to something handable) _original_, usually larger, than fitting into the design - in the teaser view, the first image should be shown in thumbnail size, preferably _inline_ (e.g. floating top left) with the text content. A click on image/text/title/more here just opens the single node view. - in the single node view all images should be shown below the text of the content, in thumbnail size, building sort of a mini gallery - a first click on an image should open it (preferably using lightbox) in a size fitting into the design (an intermediate size), another click then would open the orignal (with or without lightbox) - I plan to have specialized CCK variants of 'page' and 'blog' instead of the originals, providing the authors with a list of image upload fields, instead of the attachements section. The attachements then would be interpreted as downloadable attachements, and never shown in the mini-gallery I use Drupal 5.1, but woun't tell you all the docs/modules I have read/ tested, to not introduce any bias ... just know, I spent a whole week on this, without success. Because I'm seriously lost! How would _you_ do similar? Any suggestions are very welcome. whoops! Changed settings.php and now get redirected to "Database Configuration" page.

I'm having one of those dreaded "can't get into my own site" moments! I altered the cookie lifetime in settings.php from 2000000 to 900, opened ftp, uploaded .....and now I get redirected to this URL every time: http://www.mysite.com/install.php?profile=default looking on the drupal.org forum, it seems as though permissions may be my problem. At the moment, it is 644. I just made a comparison between my settings.php and the currently settings.php in the 5.1 tar and the only difference is the cookie length, so I'm stumped. I don't want to enter any db info on the db config page lest it start to do fresh install. I have backed up db just in case. anyone had this problem?

Mode to extract tags from a posted node

Does anybody know of an existing module which will extract tags from the body of a post (i.e. a line like "Tags: tag1 tag2 tag3") and pass them to the taxonomy system to tag that node? Help, please, with ['#collapsed'] = FALSE;

In Drupal 5.1, when creating a node type junk, I would like the Author and Attachments blocks to be expanded (i.e. ['#collapsed'] = FALSE;) Based on searching around drupal.org, I decided to create a module to achieve this. Following is my code. It does not seem to work, the attachments and author blocks are still collapsed. Can you help? Any suggestions so I can learn how to debug this myself? Using the default drupal search engine to query different databases

We have a dual drupal/mediawiki installation and would like some way of meshing the two search engines together. Preferably by having the drupal one querying not only the drupal search data tables in the DB, but also the mediawiki one. Is there a simple way of doing this. For example, by using cron to update mediawiki-data into drupal-search-data or would the different table structures prevent that from being possible? has anyone managed to "plug in" the drupal search into another db...an additional db, that is?
