XML Sitemap

Hi all, Durupal5.1 It has been a few month since I made my site public with XML Sitemap module. Google and other search engines still don't make a hit even though I see these under Log : Site map successfully submitted to <google etc>. and Site map index downloaded by Google. I see them periodically for quite sometime. It must be something wrong how I configured? I have my bio page set to XML Override to 1, and I think it is correct. Creating a static archive of drupal site ("base" directive gets in the way)

I would like to create a static html archive of my drupal site (on a regular basis, for corporate compliance reasons related to documenting previous states of the publicly published information). I have referred to the drupal manual page at http://drupal.org/node/ 27882. But I have two problems (because I am simply archiving a snapshot of the site, not retiring it, so I don't want to interfere with the normal, drupal-based, dynamic operation). 1. When I use any of the download tools (wget, sitesucker, I've not yet tried httrack) to download the site, the function drupal_get_html_head in file includes/common.inc outputs a directive ". This causes the downloaded pages to contain links which try to open the original site on the Internet, rather than the local file copy. 2. I would like to be logged in as a special user, named "archive", which is configured specially for archive purposes. For instance, it has no permission to search; it displays a custom block that tells that this is an archived version of the website, and states the date on which it was archived, etc. This works for me when I manually login as user "archive". How to get a downloading tool to login as a drupal user (they are good at http authentication, but have no understanding of drupal authentication). Thanks, Cheryl

What I do is I have a catch all forwarder on my domain and then I can make up any email and it forwards to my main email. swf tools, flv on other domain

Hi, I setup the swftools module and all works fine. Now I would like to host the flv files on a faster server, I have tried adding : $conf = array( 'swftools_media_url' => 'http://flvsite.com' ); to my settings.php file, but the movies won't load. I figured that flash might be restricted to loading flvs from the same domain, so I put the whole flash_media_player directory on the other host, and set the Default flash player path to : http://flvsite.com/flash_media_player and I tried http://flvsite.com but the File handling page alsays shows Flash Media Player - Jeroen Wijering - Missing Does anyone know the best procedure for hosting flvs on a remote server? Or should i try one of the many other media modules? Thanks.

Menu Shennanigans - Hide parents & their siblings (yep, I'm confused too)

** Apologies if this has been sent twice; my mail has been up and down all day ** Howdy-ho, I've got some subsidiary pages that all belong to a 'Subsidiary Links' menu. Something like: SUBSIDIARY LINKS --About Us --Contact Us --Environmental Responsibility ----What we do ----How can you help ----Al Gore ------Al Gore! Al Gore! --Drive More SUVs --Nuke The Whales --Just Kidding Anyway, you get the idea. Rather than show this entire menu on every subsidiary page (there will eventually be a *lot* of these pages, I'd like to just show the current branch and its parent (going down as many levels as required), hiding the parent's siblings: Environmental Responsibility --What we do <<-- CURRENT PAGE --[snip] Erm, how is this done? I've looked through the API and it's pretty incomprehensible (to me at least) how to do this programatically. I've also tried the menu_trim module, which goes one step too far and loses the parent link (the only way to get 'back' to another section). I tried fiddling with the menu_trim module (specifically, altering its trimming to start at the parent, not the current item), but that unleashed hell and brought out the parent of the Subsidiary Links menu. I usually create more than one user account when developing a site so I can test different user roles and so on. However, there are a finite number of email addresses I have and can easily check, and one has to be the site's from address. Is there a way to let multiple user id's share an email address? 5 minutes of your time - Test a short script on unusual server setups.

Hello, I'm looking for people with certain server configurations to supply some information for me. The work, which consist of running a short script twice and emailing the results, could be done in under 5 minutes. I need test results of - Apache + PHP as cgi (not fastcgi) - IIS + PHP as cgi - Xitami + PHP in whatever configuration supported I believe anyone with Windows XP Pro has a copy of IIS. Feel free to participate if you have other 'esotheric' server setups that still run Drupal.
