PHP by default will use your local sendmail binary to send mail with the mail function, so the only configuration you need to do is (if you are using postfix) to change /etc/postfix/main.cf and set relayhost to the name of your mail server. Restart postfix after this change. If you are using qmail you would edit (or add if it doesn't exist) /var/qmail/control/smtproutes and add a line like :ip-of-your-mail-server . You might also set your /var/qmail/control/concurrencyremote to a small number to better control the number of connections from the web to the mail server. Pat

Assigning tasks in Project Issue

I talked to some people a couple of months ago about this, and wanted to follow up on the status. I'm using the Project and Project Issue modules, and need a way for a user of a particular role to assign those tasks to users other than themself. I know people were debating a bunch of different approaches, and the key problem seemed to be that it still needed to be usable on a large site like drupal.org. While that's a valid concern, I personally only need it functional for a few dozen users for the moment, so if it's only partway there that's okay. Backdating story entries

(delurk) Whilst I am a Drupal advocate by experience, there was one large website I was looking after that was non-Drupal. I have since brought such site into the light however I do have one little bug which I am sure is easily solved if someone points me to the right part of the documentation: Backdating story entries. Basically the site had a blog-like news update section and I'd like to import this to the new site with the dates of the original postings. Thanks in advance, Lev

Upgrade How-To

I have one Drupal site hosted at SiteGround.org. I only have 1 node posted and I have done very little with this site so far. When I ran their Fantastico create script, it installed Drupal 5.1. I'm not quite ready to go to Drupal 6 yet since not all the modules I want to use have been re-written yet. So, I want to update from Drupal 5.1 to 5.7 and I know that might involved some database changes. So, how do I update? I am sure there is a Wiki, or instructions on how to do this. If you can just point me in the right direction, I will attempt an update on my own. But ... is there anything I should watch out for? Thanks! Tom

Activating TinyMCE on new textarea, and another TinyMCE issue

(NOTE: Sorry if this duplication, I didn't see it land on the support list the first time.) Thanks in advance for the Drupal/TinyMCE support. #1 - I am having an issue attaching TinyMCE onto a new textarea. I am using the typical 'more' button callbacks through Drupal to create a new on demand textarea (a content type with walkthrough steps, so extra textareas for new steps may be needed). But I want TinyMCE to be turned on for these new textareas. Has anyone done this before? #2 - Also, I have an issue with TinyMCE on some textareas, it doesn't show up. The textareas are initially hidden (display: none;) until they hit a particular button, but when revealed, they don't have the TinyMCE editor applied. #3 - Last small question, is there a way to check in JavaScript is TinyMCE is on for a particular textarea? Thanks all. I am hoping someone has had the 'ah-ha' moment already, and can pass it on. Greg Holsclaw (Gman).

module support for drupal 6

Just curious...for those with experience with Drupal, is it worth bringing up version 6 considering that many modules don't seem to be supported yet. CCK custom view

I have a CCK type (a news article)... is there any way I can give a custom view of this (not just the node, but the whole page), so I can output it in XML etc.? e.g /path/to/node (uses normal node view), / path/to/node/xml (renders it in XML using a template - actually what I want to do is render it in XHTML, but in a certain format) I've looked at Views, but they seem geared towards rending lists of CCK types - I just want a special view of a particular node alternatively, I could have a module that loads the CCK type via a callback menu item - e.g. /somecallback/path/to/node . ... but I can't figure out how to load the node based on the /path/to/node information.. anyone know how to do this? Create a streaming and a photogallery in my website

Hello everyone, I'm here again with another question. I need to create an audio streaming in my drupal site. In particular, I need that the users can listen the files included in a content but they can't download it. Could you suggest some ways to do that pls? Can I use mp3 files format or do you suggest something else? Is it better real audio format to do tHAT? At the edn, I'd like to ask you some advices to create a photogallery. I know that there is a module to do that but I don't know where to start. Thanks in advance for all your advices regards, Sauro

HTML displayed as text

I'm trying to edit my primary links menu to replace the text with a button image, and I'm having a problem with getting my <img> tag to display. I've overridden the theme_menu_links() function in template.php, and it looks like what I need to do is replace $link['title'] with the <img> tag. To do this, I added this line to the function: $link['title'] = "<img src=\"images/btn_home.jpg\">"; However, the whole tag is displayed as text on the page, and when I view source, this is what I see for the link: <li><a href="/drupal57/" title="Home page" class="active"><img src='images/btn_home.jpg'></a></li> I don't understand this, because in other places in the function, that is how tags are written out in the code. What do I need to change to get the actual quotes and < > symbols written out correctly? Thanks. Steve
