problem with finishing page loading?

Hi! I have a problem that I find difficult to describe, let alone finding documentation: Any hint appreciated! on one of my sites on a multisite drupal 6.8 I have a problem when I want to edit or add a node. TinyMCE doesn't load and collapsables don't open. The icons don't appear. So, I cannot change Input format or any of the settings at the end of the page. It is not a problem that depends on the theme. It is not the drupal core since the other sites work fine. I noticed however that in my other sites it looks the same before the page finishes loading for about a second or so, when TinyMCE is not yet active, so I assume I have some problem that prevents my edit page from completing the page loading. Any ideas? Any tips where to look for help? thanks! maurice

problem with too many modules

hello, We have drupal page with 50+ modules. With every new module added, drupal is getting slower and slower (with load times near 2 seconds). After installation of APC load times dropped drastically but are still slow. Are there any common ways to handle installations with lots of modules (and even more include files)? pages depend on 2 external systems, but loading data form them takes only 0.3 second. PS: I tough about "hacking" core to load only modules that are really needed for the page that is loading (modules doesn't depend on each other). I'm just curious if it's possible? thanks

Duplicated Entry Problem

While I am having the memory problem on my production site, I found something else on my local dev machine log. Memory Error

Hello, Drupal 6.8 Sorry for a noob question. I just added a new content type, and got this: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1252219 bytes) in /includes/database.mysql.inc on line 301 I googled around and I could guess I need to hack .htaccess file, but not sure what is the exact syntax and if I need the tag or just write one line. Custom Registration Form

hello, I want to create a custom user registration form, i found that user.module (a core module) is responsible for existing user registration and login i thought of chaing the core module but its not good practice to change core modul right ? . so i didnt change the core module. As for as i know custom registration form can be created by copying the content of user.module to custom-user.module, now i can customize the custom-user.module functions i.e adding addition fields to $form array and wrting my own validation code. i dont know how far it will work. if you have any better solution please share it with me. Multiple sites with different database and different contents

Hi... I have installed drupal 6.8 and its working fine with no problems at all. However, now I am into a scenario where I want to host multiple sites with different databases, different content but the same codebase. I know i can do it by juts extracting a drupal tar file and re-installing stuff again..But this would be my worst case situation. I want to do it using the multiple site flexibility. I am a newbie when it comes to setting up virtual hosts. I am using openSUSE 11.1 thanks in advance! Radhika

Hi, I just started using drupal(so far liking it very much, I get started very easily and quickly) and installed and enabled the locals and translation modules to be able to have multilingual content. One problem remains currently: When I start writing a translation, but it's not ready yet, and it's therefore not published, the language switcher block still shows the possibility to switch to the language with the not-ready translation, but anymous users get an "access denied" error when chosing the translation language. I searched everywhere I could but could not solve that. Coherent Access Mess Up - Looking for something else

Before I read Bill's book, I was already using Coherent Access to communicate with my students. There was already problems: http://drupal.org/node/317413 The issue above is closed but I am still experiencing exact the same problem. There is a user patch listed there. While I am not sure if I need to try it, I didn't understand how to patch even after reading this: http://drupal.org/patch/apply After installing OG, it got worse. The editor/viewer field won't save more than one user. If I assign a user to a viewer then I can't add editor. I rebuilt permission many times, update.php many times, emptied caches many but to no avail. I honestly would like to dump this module. Is there any other way to communicate with each user privately? still on inter module communication and workflow

I'm working on D5. I just discovered my error with the static variable approach. If I call a function with a static during "content creation" (the function that is declared in the menu hook in items[]=>'callback'), it is true that the menu hook of a module with lower weight will be called first but it's not true that the functions will be called first. So while hook processing can be prioritised... the page creation work-flow seems to be divided in just 3 steps hook_init callback function in menu template processing D6 makes more "accessible" the later with [hook]_preprocess_[element] but the page creation process from a module point of view is quite "monolithic". Supposing "mymodule" want to offer some sort of HEAD/META facility only way I see to collect information from other modules and then output them on page after all the modules had a chance to fill some global object (at th function level rather than at the module level) is to call a function in the template. Offering this global object as a hook will not introduce a dependency in the modules that may be willing to *optionally* support 'mymodule' but well offering it as a hook will be just another way to wrap it with a function_exists since I'd have to wrap the "output" function in the template anyway. Is there any other way to approach the problem in D5? Did I miss something about the page build up work-flow? Can it be more fine grained splitted (in D5, D6 or D7)? or are there any places/hook/method... to have code executed in a certain order I don't mean triggers/actions.
