HI, I am using drupal 7.10 and latest views. I am not sure how best to
create the following view.
I have a taxonomy vocabulary with 4 terms. I would like each term to be a
heading and below each term have a list that will directly link to the file
that is attached. for example
heading red
download red 1
link download red 2
link download red 3
heading white
link download white 1
link download white 2
etc
Can I do this with one view?

No arguments, no relationships. I am doing this as admin so
permissions shouldn't be an issue, plus the page display for this
view is working but the feed display is where I have the problem. And
the feed works when I add another content type to the filter - which
is for type only at this point.

Shai,
When I set the feed's node type filter to another type it works, but
when it has the problem node type it doesn't show anything.

Shai,
Yes I'm using Drupal 6 and Views 2 and then testing via the path set
in Views. You're not kidding that those previews are not reliable, I
hadn't seen this kind of thing before and got a little freaked.
For some reason it looks like this particular content type is
not working for a feed. I also have a page display set up with the
same View, and there the content type seems to work fine. So is there
something special about a feed? How do I go about debugging this?
