Argument passing

Hi All I have a search text field, and a search button. If user presss search button, I redirect to a new page and 'page callback' function invoked. I wanted the data entered in search text field (that was present in form of previous page) should be available in 'page callback' function. Is this possible? Regards Austin

Figured out, while redirecting, I only need to append the string that I need in new page. With this change, it is working fine. Still I do not know why the integer argument is there, for example 3 in below line. 'page arguments' => array('accountant_registry_form',3), I put it any value, still I get as many args as I want. Zen subtheme problem with blocks

I am creating a new Zen subtheme because the theme I tried previously ran into a major problem. I have been to the blocks admin page and verified that my blocks are set up. Several definitely have content, because I can dump what is being returned from hook_block(). No block regions are showing any content at all, not even the sidebars. Adding a get_defined_vars() to page.tpl.php shows all region variables to be empty. I don't know if it is cause or effect, but body{} has class="no-sidebars" (even though I have them) but it's not just the sidebars that should have data. I have tried putting stuff in every region and it never shows up. I hope someone can tell me what I've done that was stupid because my deadline is fast approaching. BTW, yes I did search, not just the Zen issue queue, but the whole site. I saw many posts, but no real fixes. Nancy Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. -- Dr. Martin L. King, Jr.

Place holders in SQL query

1. When we do a SQL query, if we want to pass value to query, we make use %d for integers or %s for strings. Similarly do we have any place holders for arrays. 2. I am facing a below typical problem, can somebody tell me what should I do? Below query works fine. SELECT skillid FROM {resubmt_skills} WHERE resubmt_skills.skillname IN (*'PHP', 'HTML', 'SQL'*) But in above query search string *'PHP', 'HTML', 'SQL' *is hard coded. I want to make the query generic. Lets say in custom search form, user entered search string PHP, Telecom, HTML,, so how can I write a generic query. Thanks Austin

Confidentiality form

Hi. I want to have a node that has a checkbox for the user to agree to hold the contents confidential. How should I approach this. I messed with CCK and it doesn't seem to be appropriate for this. I don't want to make this intrusive, or require that they check the box every time they return to the node. I just want them to see it once, then they have access to all content of a specific type. Hi All I have a form. Form contains a text field and a search button. I want inside resume_search_skill_based_search(), the text entered by user in search textfield should be available. I know, we need to pass the aguguments, but not clear how do I do this. Drupal 7 Multisites

Jason and all Thanks for your reply I apologise for the errors in my previous email. I have /var/www/html/d7b3 on my local machine. The reason I used drupal 7 beta 3 is because I could not get Drupal 7 to render Cyrilic text nor could I get it to put images on pages with CCK and CKEditor. CKfinder gives error message "System Error". D7b3 does not give errors, renders Cyrillic text and puts images on the page/s. Thanks, this is what I'm trying to achieve: I need to set up 2 multi sites in d7b3, or, if drupal7 would work then I would use that. I would prefer to leave the /default drupal in tact and have site_au and site_ru as the operational working sites. The site_au will contain the english version of about 32 pages of text and images. site_ru the Cyrillic/Russian text will be virtually the same 32 page layout but with text cut and pasted into CKeditor from MSword or Open Office writer. I do not speak, understand nor use the Cyrillic language. I receive the translations and will set up pages with images. I and one other person will be the only people who can make alterations and both versions have to be compared and approved by management. When the 2 multi sites are working correctly I will eventually need to set up sites for about 3 other translations in other languages, so which ever drupal version I use must handle and render those also. But first I must get the Cyrillic and English versions to a satisfactory standard. I do not have complex drupal needs but am struggling so far. I hope to transfer the whole thing to the server once everything is in tact and ready to be approved. String conversion

Hi I have a below string. *PHP, HTML, SQL* Want to convert it to *'PHP', 'HTML', 'SQL'* I tried to write a function to do it as below. If I print the function output it prints properly. If same function output I use for SQL query as below I get warning. Query: SELECT skillid FROM {resubmt_skills} WHERE resubmt_skills.skillname IN (%s)", $fSkill Warning: SELECT skillid FROM resubmt_skills WHERE resubmt_skills.skillname IN (\'ITI\',\' PHP\'))) in C:\MyWeb6.20\wamp\www\livejobs1\sites\default\modules\resume_search\resume_search.module on line 140. Looks it has extra forward slashes. How can I overcome this. Thanks Austin

Setting content types to roles

This should be easy, but I don't see how to do it. I am in Drupal 6.20. I'm trying to set some content types viewable only by specific roles. I created a content type, let's call it privateContent. Then I go to permissions, but all I see is "access content" for the various roles. I see the permissions for editing, etc, but not individual selection for the various roles, for viewing. What do I need to do? Also: I want one of the primary menu items to be viewable only by my new "privateContent" role. Advice will be much appreciated. Bill William A. Prothero http://earthednet.org/

My menu tree doesnt appear like a tree

Hi there, I am currently developing my own theme. The theme was designed by some web designers, and I had to implement it in Drupal (7) this way, well that's what I found on the internet. The menu is rendered pretty good, like: |<?php $hoofdmenu = menu_navigation_links('menu-hoofdmenu'); echo theme('links', array("links" => $hoofdmenu, 'attributes' => array('id' => 'hoofdnav', 'class' => 'radius'))); ?>| But.. This only works for "top level" menu items. Some how the sub-menu-items, or children, aren't visible now. How can I display the second level menu items too? Is this possible in somewhat the same way?
