Error trying to install module in new site.

Hello all. I am installing another testing domain with Drupal 7. The first one is running fine with Marinelli and does part of what I want to learn to do. So I decided to have another site, for testing and leave the first one to improve things done under testing/developing. I installed without problems (version 7.0 , that is the one that install my server with CPanel) and ai decided to upgrade. By the way the upgrade oin 1st site was done fine and the site works fine apparently. After upgrading the second site and receive no errors (it was empty so I guess it should upgrade without problems) I decided to start configuring it by installing some of the modules I was using on the other. I tried installing TOKEN and PATHAUTO as I did on the other but this time I receive this error: --------------------------------- Error message The specified file temporary://filesTktdp could not be copied, because the destination directory is not properly configured. This may be caused by a problem with file or directory permissions. More information is available in the system log. http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/token-7.x-1.0-beta2.tar.gz could not be saved to temporary://update-cache-eda84aec/token-7.x-1.0-beta2.tar.gz. Unable to retrieve Drupal project from http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/token-7.x-1.0-beta2.tar.gz. --------------------------------- my guess is that when I uploaded the upgrade to 7.2 a permission of one directory that acts as temporary was affected... but I can not find which one. I have not tested in 1st one (let's name it "production one" but I guess could be affected also since the procedure was the same... - Any ideas of what to do to fix this? - Any other suggestion on checking production site ? Just a mysterious " request failed: error reading the headers", and a 403 in other log files. Again, this was working fine until I upgraded to 6.22. I think i was at around 6.12. events page in drupal 7

Hi all -- I have moderate exposure to Drupal 5 and 6, and am building a Drupal 7 site as a volunteer for a summer-long art project for kids. I could probably learn the info I need by spending hours reading the docs and playing in my sandbox installation, but the site needs to be up now, at least with bare minimum features, and my time is very limited. So I'm hoping for some suggestions to help me get this accomplished ASAP (and I *promise* to read the docs over the next few weeks!) I have a Main Menu item called Events. I have created a content type called Events. Each Events type node will need a start date, end date, description, and if possible option to include an image. When a site visitor clicks on Events all the Events type nodes should be displayed in Start Date order, sort of like blog posts added to a blog site. HOW DO I DO THIS? The problems I've run into so far are ... 1. When I made the Events main menu link, since I have no clue what path to give it, for now I just used node/add. What node should it be? There is no one Events "page", it will just be a list of events. 2. I don't see any Date field types in manage fields for the Event content type. How do I add date fields? 3. How and where do I specify that any node of the Events content type will appear when a visitor clicks the Events link? I thought of using Views (which would handle the sorting too) but I see that Views is still in Beta for D7 and I cannot afford to mess around with heavily buggy modules. Any opinions on the status of Views? 4. Should I be using Taxonomy instead of or in addition to Content Type to define which posts should appear under the Events link? I would think that the question "how do I list all content of a particular type under my menu link" is a FAQ but I can't find a simple page that explains it. Any pointers would be so appreciated!! kazar

Error with my first module

Hello, I'm tryin' to setup my first module. Created the .info and .module files on sites/all/modules/modulename, and start with a very basic block but when I enable th emodule it breaks my primary links menu (superfish menu). Here's the simple code on .module , any idea? Wich is the simplest way to debug this kind of problems? Deployment module weirdness

I have transfered a content type using the deployment module. It was the first type I pushed, and there were several problems, through several runs. I have since been able to push another type, but that first type, while it claims to transfer successfully, just will not show up on the receiving server. What might be going on, or more importantly, how can I get it to allow me to transfer this type? I'm guessing that enough of it exists in the database that it appears to services, but not to the list of content types. (or something...) Luke

Deploy Module with Differing Sites

Hello I'm attempting to use the deploy module to move several thousand nodes of multiple types, from one site to another. [A project which was supposed to be done today.:(] The sites are at the same D6 version, have the same modules more or less, and aught to be compatible. However, one is using core themes, and the other (destination) is using fusion and its ilk; and the receiving site has nodes of its own which should not be destroyed when the new nodes from the source site come over. The instructions for deploy (http://drupal.org/node/408774) indicate that the destination site should be an identical copy of the source site, created after the deploy module is configured. That isn't possible here--these are concurrently running sites, each with individual content. I am guessing that I can still setup deploy, and must somehow make provision for differing unique IDs for terms and so on, but otherwise it could potentially work? Any advice appreciated. Luke

Content type modules, install and uninstall code

I¹m new to Drupal. A very experienced programmer, but new to Drupal. I have worked my way through Beginning Drupal 7 by Todd Tomlinson and Pro Drupal 7 Development by Todd Tomlinson and John K VanDyk. I¹ve watched some videos and online code examples. Here¹s where I am in my project. The site is set up, contributed modules installed, base theme installed. I¹m beginning to add 13 custom content types. I want them to be added from modules, 1 for each type since there will be a cafeteria plan. There¹s much more, but I¹m stuck here. In the books there was a example of adding one field to a new content type. All created in a module. The exercise worked great. However, when I try it with one of my modules that has multiple fields, things get screwed up. - The fields are added to the database, but they do not appear on the form. - During uninstall, the field tables are not removed from the database. - I don¹t know how to set all of the properties of the data field or widget that I can when I am creating a custom content type using the administrative pages. - I want the fields to be contained in fieldsets upon installation. I can do this if I am creating a form from scratch with code, but how do I do this in a custom content type module.install script? I¹ve screwed around with this so much now that I¹m not sure when what stopped working.
