Rather fundamental question - how to find how site is structured, e.g. where is the home/front page defined?

Well, I have now updated this Drupal 6.16 site to 6.22 and have also updated dozens of modules which were out of date to get rid of all the security warnings. It was fairly straightforward once I realised that, in the main, all that was needed was to download and unpack the relevant module tar file and copy it over the old version. I also read the release notes and did any extra cache clearing etc. mentioned there. So far so good, I have a fairly reasonable idea of how to do things on the support/technical side now. However I'm totally lost as to how to manage/change the content. Well, not entirely true, I can see how to add what Drupal calls nodes. The site has various ways for users to add contents in blogs, organisation profiles, work opportunities, etc. That's fine and I can see how they get added to the relevant parts of the site. The big thing I can't understand though is how the *structure* of the site is organised, i.e. how do I find where the front page is created and how is the hierarchy below there structured? The "Default Front Page" in System Configuration is set to 'front'. Can anyone point me at where I can look and learn how the site is put together? Questions around 6.16 to 6.22 upgrade

I am about to embark on upgrading a Drupal 6.16 site to 6.22. I have only recently taken on the existing (6.16) site and I'm still finding my way around a bit. There are a couple of things that I find a bit worrying:- There's no UPGRADE.txt file in Drupal core, I've unpacked the one in the 6.22 tar archive though so I can work from that. It seems fairly straightforward if a bit complex. When logged in as administrator on the site I can't see the Home » Dashboard » Site building » Modules page, though I can get to it by entering the URL directly into my browser's address bar. Is there some sort of configuration option that would enable/disable this? If not how do I get it back? The UPGRADE.txt file step five says "Disable all custom and contributed modules.", how does one know which modules are custom and contributed? Is there any easy/automated way of remembering which modules are enabled so that one can turn on all the right ones again after the upgrade? Or does one just print out the web page and do it manually? -- Chris Green

I have uploaded an image to view in the teaser just a simple 600 x 100 px image. It seems to not show in the node when uploaded. On my offline site it works fine. But when uploaded to the server it givs me this. Also how do you set the number of teasers you would like to display? Cheers, Kevin

Page with events at different locations

I want to create a content type for events (concerts). An individual concert production can potentially take place in different locations (Friday in San Francisco, Saturday in Berkeley, basically same concert). Is it possible to associate in some way a date with a term reference (which would be the location)? I envision an unlimited datetime entry that associate with the location. I have problems wrapping my head around how to achieve this, or how to solve the issue differently, but still user-friendly. One way I image would be using two content types: The first for the general information for the concert, including a term-reference that is distinct for this production. The second for the datetime - location that also includes a term-reference for this production. The second content type would have a radio-button list for the production. For the first one, I'd somehow need to make sure, that the term-reference is not yet in use, and how would I do that (I am thinking in a database way - first content type has a unique key, that corresponds to the second content type's foreign key). Is there a better - drupal - way? Grateful for any comments, tips or pointers ... Thanks, Ursula (actually, just writing this made the task clearer for me, that's called confessional debugging, I am still interested to hear whether I am missing something, and how to ensure the unique term reference)

What's causing these errors from the date module?

How do I prevent this from happening when one of the drupal servers has lost the connection to the product files directory?

One of our Drupal servers lost connection to where our ubercart files are located (see below) File download settings<https://mapsindeed.com/admin/store/settings/products/edit/features#> Files path: The absolute path (or relative to Drupal root) where files used for file downloads are located. For security reasons, it is recommended to choose a path outside the web root. and then within all of our users "File downloads" section ( https://domanname/user/21/purchased-files) it lost all of their listing of purchased files and also all the ubercart products lost their association to attached Feature/File download files. It appears that shortly after a Drupal server loses connection to where the ubercart files are located it then deletes all the associations to ubercart Feature/File download files and also all the users "File downloads" sections are empty. How do I prevent this from happening when one of the drupal servers has lost the connection to the product files directory? Thanks, John

Image Import / Broken D6 Admin menus

I've lost my admin menus in Drupal 6 and I can't find where the bulk image import is anymore. Please will some kind soul point me to the URI? Background: My site is about 5 years old and has been upgraded from Drupal 4.7 to 5 to 6 along the way. Somewhere along the way my Admin menus got broken. It wasn't an upgrade problem, it was a lame newb mistake back then of placing my primary links in navigation; and when I tried to fix it (reversed them in the database. Eek!) the admin menu lost the plot. I tried doing a menu rebuild, but that didn't work. I'm not too fussed about it though, because lots of other things are broken. Like OG and Petitions, for example, and despite uninstalling the modules, updating, re-installing, and half-heatedly poking at the database, I just can't get some things to work anymore, and I don't know why. I'm stuck on an unsupported img legacy anyway, so I need to start afresh with Drupal 7 and import the content manually. When I have the time and inclination. So yah. My admin menu is broken and I can't find the image_import page. Please help? :)

Failed to fetch available update data

Hi, my site is using drupal 6.22 and for two or three days I'm having this strange problem: Whenever I try to check for available updates for modules/core (/admin/reports/updates/check), either I get no data at all or I get info only for a few random modules (and that after exceptionally long time of waiting, a few minutes). Right now only for three out of twenty. For the rest, only message "Failed to fetch available update data". Where is the problem? Everything worked as expected till about the middle of the last week. Of course I have not changed anything on my site. And it does not help to "check manually", it is still the same: for a few modules I get info, for most of them nothing... Admin CSS

Since Fields seems to insist on giving me an "N/A" option for a boolean field, I want to take it out in the CSS, but I don't want it going away every time there's a system upgrade. Is there some easy way to give Seven (the admin theme) another CSS file (or setting to it) that it won't overlay on upgrades?
