View at taxonomy/term/% to display descendant taxonomy terms as well as nodes tagged

Hi, My requirement is that given a hierarchy like: Furniture Chairs Desk Chairs Dining Chairs Tables etc. If I go to taxonomy/term/74 (where 74 is term ID for Chairs) then I want to see a list of nodes tagged with Chairs and show links to "Desk Chairs" and "Dining Chairs", preferably with their taxonomy image and their description. The first bit of this is easily solved in views using either the default taxonomy replacement view or by creating a clone of it, but not sure of the most "Drupalish" way to do the second. I thought I might be able to do it with an attachment in the view and grouping on term but I don't think this will work for me. Other ideas are either change the template manually, so at least the nodes are handled by views (what I'm leaning towards atm) or to have another totally different view that is a term view, rather than a node view, as a block and setting the block up to get the arguments from the URL. Does anyone have a better idea or is this the way to go? Ta, Malks.

"File downloads" section missing fieldname hyperlink what table(s) need to be populated so that this column is populated?

One of our Drupal servers lost connection to where our ubercart files are located File download settings<https://mapsindeed.com/admin/store/settings/products/edit/features#> Files path: The absolute path (or relative to Drupal root) where files used for file downloads are located. For security reasons, it is recommended to choose a path outside the web root. and after this connection was re-established then within all of our users "File downloads" section (https://domanname/user/21/purchased-files) it lost all of their listing of purchased files. We then restored from backup both the uc_file_users and uc_file_products tables that were empty. Now the "File downloads" section (see below) had all the purchased files but the filename column was empty which has the hyperlink so that the user can download the file. What other table(s) need to be restored from backup so that the Filename hyperlink will be populated within the "File downloads" section? Really need help with Aegir

Hi all I have a hd with ubuntu 11.04 server installed. I followed the instructions to install Aegir on the server but it gives errors at the end of the install. Google tells of others experiencing the same errors but gives no resolution. I installed firefox on the server but think it won't work unless there is a windows manager of some sort. What is the smallest windows manager required to run firefox on a server and what else should be installed. Can someone please point me to an Aegir tutorial or script that actually does install properly I would like to be able to access the ubuntu server hard drive from my ubuntu 11 desktop hard drive but have no idea how to do so. How can I work on the server hard drive from my desktop without having to boot into the server hd Help would be much appreciated, thank you Roger

size of blocks

Dear All, I'd like to set two blocks in the same region onto the same line. main menu floated left and search form on the right. Can someone point me in the right direction as to where I should be looking to do this or how? Template file? CSS? Thanks Tony

Taxonomy

I'm trying to create two pages, one for each taxonomy term (w/ taxonomy description) and one for all taxonomy terms (w/ descriptions) . With Drupal 6, I accomplished the first option via two views and this function my template.php function lax_taxonomy_term_page($tids, $result) { $output = ''; $output .= views_embed_view('taxonomy_term_header', 'default', $tids[0]); $output .= views_embed_view('product_grid_view', 'default', $tids[0]); return $output; } In summery, here's what I'm looking for. I'd like this to come from a view setup, not teaser output. Taxonomy view for certain terms

Hello I think I need a view for this, but several attempts to make one that would do it failed a few months ago, so I thought I'd ask here to see if there is a D6 module which will get me there. I couldn't find one that looked right in searching, but that doesn't mean anything. I have nodes of several types. Products X Products Y Products Z Products Every (X, Y, Z) product, no matter what other CCK fields or attributes it has, includes a computed field containing a hex color. Every (X, Y, Z) product, is in one of several categories. E.G.: Xes -> Type 1 Xes (100 nodes) Xes -> Type 2 Xes (75 nodes) Ys -> First Size of Yes (50 nodes) ... For each type plus category combination, I need to show a table of all of those nodes. Specifically, I need to show a color table. Little blocks of color (representable in HTML as a span with a colored background, probably), clickable to get to the node's page. Either that, or clickable to add the node to the UC Cart, without going to the node's page. (If there's a module for that aspect, I don't know of it.) I don't want the customer to ever see a listing of products in that term, without seeing them represented in that way (I.E. the normal catalog/TID should go to this view or module). However, for products not in one of those categories, the standard catalog/tid view (I.E. the UC Catalog view) should be shown. There are many tens of subcategories here, and I'd really rather not maintain a separate view display for each of them. Plus, more could be added by unskilled users later. So, to put it all another way: I need to have a custom view which only takes over for the regular term view, if that term is one of a non-consecutive set. Alternatively, it could only kick in, if the term is a child of another specific term. That would be simpler, but I have no idea how to make it happen. E.G. if user goes to catalog/722, and 722 (Type 1 Xes), happens to be a child of 32 (Xes), the view will take over. Can this be done with standard views, or do I need to get a custom module to pull it off? Thanks for any pointers. Luke

Why does drush sql-sync save db different from drush sql-dump

I'm new to drupal, drush and git, not had much sql exposure for 20 years but experienced in unix systems and all the usual software technologies. Please tell me nicely if I posted in the wrong place where I should have posted it. I'm setting a drupal site up so I can post offline to a virtual machine on my laptop, track my development in git (fabulous tool, well done Linus). This I have working fine on several vm instances and my remote server. However, as I'd like the database backed in a git repo I was playing with ways to do that in combination with drush sql-sync and drush sql-dump when I noticed that the database that drush sql-sync produces (located with %dump in a drush alias) has differences to the one produced by drush sql-dump --result-file=..). That is, if I sql-sync from another machine and I then sql-dump the database into a file its not the same as the one that was dumped during the sync. Why ? Further to this I'm trying to figure out a scheme where I know there is a copy of the current database with a known name inside the git scope but its a little tricky if the commands to dump produce different results to the ones produced by sql-sync. I'm beginning to feel these sql database results are non-deterministic :-). Maybe they are ;-) (note on each machine there is only *one* database for drupal) andy Cheers andy

Block visibility

Dear all, For the life of me I can not get my search block to be visible outside of being logged in as admin. I have moved the block to all areas but never see it unless I am logged in as admin. I don't think any css is hiding it (otherwise it should at least show up in one region). I know I deleted some breadcrumb-specific - or at least what I thought was breadcrumb-specific - php code in one of the templates. Could this be the reason I don't see it? Or what would be the relevant php code which determines if this particular search block appears or not? Thanks Tony

Upgrade from 6.16 to 6.22 - should it break things badly?

I just recently tried to upgrade a Drupal 6.16 installation to the recommended 6.22. It fell in a crumpled heap! I did the upgrade using drush and it produced loads of warning messages about disabled modules because the 'module wasn't compatible with the new version' and also did some database changes which I'm pretty certain was what broke the system completely. I have reverted to 6.16 and restored the database and all is well now, but I'm a bit unsure how to proceed as it feels as if I really should do the security upgrades. I'm afraid I lost the output from drush where all the warning messages were shown because I just wanted to undo the mess. I can possibly try again with (yet another) copy of the site and show the error messages here if that might help. -- Chris Green
