superfish / parent menu item with no link?

Hi everyone -- I am crash-coursing on Drupal 7 using the Danland theme, which incorporates Superfish. One of my Main Menu items (a.k.a Primary LInks in Drupal6-ese) is "About". Submenus under About are "Our Mission", "Our Team" etc. I have the submenus working fine, but I'm having a problem in that in the Menus setup I can't make an About menu item on the top level that links to NO page because the Path is a required field. I only want the submenus to have links. I have tried making About point to the same node as Our Mission. But then the problem is that in Firefox 4 a hover over the top-level menus does not drop the sub-menus. A click on the top-level menu is required. This has the effect of putting the user on the Our Mission page instead (after the submenu items briefly show & then disappear again). Then they have to click on About again to drop the submenus but after some sort of js (or something) processing the submenus close up after a split second. So. Is there either any way to make Superfish submenus work in FF4 (by "work" I mean drop upon hover) OR is there a way to have a parent item (i.e., in the top-level Main Menu) with no path entered? thanks, kazar

Writing a module and get an error

Hi All, I am in Chapter 2 of Tomlinson's et al book about Pro Drupal 7 Development. How can I restrict certain strings in login names during registration (6.x)?

Hi, I'm looking for a possibility to restrict login names during registration, i.e. I want to forbid using strings "abc" or "ABC" on whatever position in the login names they pick. How could I do that? But I do not want to block those strings in login-name generally, just only during registration... Hello all. First to all thanks for the members participant in the list. I learn something every day. My apologize in advance if this email is kind of off topic. I do not want to cause troubles in the list so maybe for those of you who would be so kind to answer me it could be better to do it off line, directly to my email address. I continue learning Drupal V7. I could not solve the thing of having several ones in my VPS server with CPanel but that is fine for now. Before moving with other provider I would like to hear, if possible, your comments on the following comments/questions. I guess that a personal project I have had from years can be done finally with the help of Drupal and the combination of some other development tools. The framewok is great and my idea is to use as all the external structure, security, basic forums, articles, polls, etc and then include some other things I would like to have. Here is where the comments arrive, I am sorry if those sound crazy. 1) My project includes people that does not have access to the internet always. And while they do not have access they even would have to be able to create include information. Yes, I know I can install D7 in a local machine and copy the information exporting and importing. But I would like to have an application , desktop one, that let them capture the information, according to their age, role, etc. I would like to have it as a desktop one. Why? several reasons (security, encryption, etc) and besides as a training for me to be able to solve and be able to get a job or a better one if I can do those things. Anyway, desktop application running on the machine. IN teh last weeks I have been evaluating and deciding what path (tools) to use for that. I am a good programmer with some years of experience so the learning curve implied could be accepted without problems. I have been playing with the trial version of http://www.runrev.com/ Very Very impressive and I guess it can do it without problems. ONly things is that it is kind of expensive to have all the tools need it for now. Mainly advantage is that you can create multi platform developments I was also considering returning to the Microsoft tools (Visual Studio 2010). It is expensive also but it is very commercial (thinking in jobs). My other alternative I am considering is Python. Open source, multi platform also, cheap. I know some of you work developing systems also. What would be your advice.? What tools are you using now ? Remember the idea is that the desktop application run and can independently and can connect and send information and retrieve information from the database of Drupal. ON the other side. I need to develop the web part. I know Drupal is done with PHP and it will be easier to do what I need in PHP also. If you are using PHP. Can you share what are you using as your tools? I am planning to use Eclipse but since I do not know much yet I do not know what API framework to use, some say Zend would the best for a framework for PHP. If you are in list like this for PHP, can you share them also. I am planning to devote time also to Python and I guess at the end do all mainly in Python. Any comments or advice? My project is personal, it is for poor communities in the mountains that have no access to internet and not resources. It is a complex project that I expect to be doing it in the next 2 years. Hidden fields with formfilter

Has anyone ever used the module formfilter and had the form error afterward? Here's the deal: I am using Node Import 1.1 (in Drupal 6.19), to grab CSV files for a few content types. A few users need access to this, but I don't want to offer every single content type (only the ones they need to import into). So I have used formfilter in the past, and it works great for me. But when I limit certain items, the user gets an error message. "An illegal choice has been detected. Please contact the site administrator." Illegal choice. After digging around in Googleville, it seems there may be a Drupal issue with hidden inputs, maybe, but I didn't find much on it, only some 'I have a patch for that' messages. At first I wondered if I just had too many hidden ones, but it seems that even if only one 'problem' item is hidden, it still errors. I've done Diffs on the HTML, and the only difference is the one shown above (and a form key, but that is expected). Any ideas? I really don't want to have to re write the entire Node Import module as a custom module for this one silly problem. Joel

Problem with uploading files on Drupal6

Hello all, I am running Drupal6 running on Debian Lenny with Apache2, PHP5 (suPHP+suhoshin patch) and mod_security2. I have issues with file upload I am getting error message: "warning: is_file() [function.is-file <https://new.techplasty.sk/node/add/function.is-file>]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/tmp/php6sDem4) is not within the allowed path(s): (/data/internal/drupal6:/data/www.example.com/www/drupal:/data/www.example.com/tmp/drupal) in /data/internal/drupal6/includes/image.inc on line 117." All settings looks fine: Apache vhost mod_security2 upload dir config: SecUploadDir /data/internal/drupal6/sites/www.example.com/files/tmp php.ini config: upload_tmp_dir = /data/www.example.com/tmp/drupal open_basedir = /data/internal/drupal6:/data/www.example.com/www/drupal:/data/www.example.com/tmp/drupal include_path = ".:/usr/share/php5:/data/internal/drupal6:/data/www.example.com/www/drupal:/data/www.example.com/tmp/drupal" Code <?php print file_directory_temp();?> is returning path sites/example.com/files/tmp path sites/www.example.com is symbolic link to sites/example.com. Programmatically checking if a user is flagged

Hello all, I'm using the flags module. How can i check if a user is flagged? $flag = flag_get_flag('student_has_project'); $flag->is_flagged($user->uid); Is this correct? I can't find it in official documentation. I'm unflagging the user using Rules, but that doesn't seem to work. Best, Toon
