Depends on the CDN and whether it's a push or pull. CSS & JS on a CDN

I'm looking at contracting for a site, and the first thing I see is that is SSSLLLOOOWWW. There are a bunch of CSS files being served (individually) from a CDN, as well as several JS files. First question: would it be faster to use the compressed CSS file right from the site? Second question is there a way to consolidate those files (like a compressed file) onto a CDN, if they believe strongly in CDNs? Nancy

How to allow images in filtered HTML

Even though I have <img> as an allowed tag, the filtered html filter gets rid of the guts of the tag (the pointer to the image) in Drupal 7 with TinyMCE. The html is just left with <img />. Ditto for font and span tags. This seems like a fundamental flaw. How do I allow users to insert images into filtered HTML posts? -- James A. Rome URL: http://jamesrome.net

Provide multiple default images for imagefield

Hi everybody, I implemented my users profiles pictures with imagefield and content profile and I'd like to let the user upload an image (successfully done with imagefield and imagecache) but also to have the option of choosing among more than one default image. So the user have 2 choices: or he uploads one or he chooses among various images (with radio buttons). Any suggestion to achieve this ? I asked this on Drupal Answers: http://drupal.stackexchange.com/q/4682/594 but wasn't successful, they recommends me Avatar_selection which is for User images that I don't use and Gravatar which I'm not sure will apply there. Any idea ? Should I reengeneer my solution to use User pictures from core ? Thanks

taxonomy image - default image doesnt work?

Hello good ppl, The default image option in the General settings for taxonomy_image, I set it to sites/default/files/mydefaultimage.jpg But, this default doesn't show up for taxonomy terms with no associated image. Isn't this how it's supposed to work? Tried to look for it but seems to be an open issue? Any lucky anyone in here? - Ben

Multiple Upload Path With Content And Permission Restrictions

Hello Drupalites, I understand that there are a number of modules that allow for different upload paths. Can these be tied to content types? e.g., /files [path for default content types, page, story etc] /files/special [path for special content type] Further would it be at all possible, given the special content type to add restrictions specific to upload and view according to roles. e.g., Special Content Upload File Viewer, Special Content Upload Adder Which module can do you recommend for this functionality? new modules don't install properly

I recently had the experience of installing the webform module on a D6.19 site. It showed up on admin/build/modules as enabled and was installed on sites/all/modules, but the config menu never showed up even after clearing the cache and couldn't be reached by typing in the url either. Now the same thing has happened with the user_import module ie. it enables but the modules menu doesn't become available. The site status report seems fine with no major errors showing up, and the the access log doesn't show any errors. So it's looking like new modules don't work on this site and I'm at a loss as to what the problem might be. Any ideas? Marty

Good way to create CCK-based tabs for node view

Hi all, I'm working on an estate agent-esque website in D6. Each property page has a number of tabs (Overview, Design features, Floor plans, etc.). Most of the fields only show up under one tab, but there are some repetitions (eg. 'sale price' is shown on Pricing and Who can apply). I'm not sure how to implement the tabs, and would love to hear any feedback on the following ideas (or a better idea entirely is also good:). I'd like to end up with a solution that allows non-coders to be able to do simple field changes (eg. now this field is shown under the Design tab). I've not used the modules below, so any warnings/recommendations would also be well received :) 1. Use CCK Fieldgroup Tabs[1], add some AJAX handling, and do something nasty for the occasional field that comes under two tabs (any ideas here? All I can think of is using computed_field to create a duplicate, which is icky). 2. Use display suite[2] to create a custom build mode for each tab. This seems to be a nice way to add/remove fields from the tabs: can anyone see an issue with this? Would there be performance implications that you know of? 3. Create a simple module that just presents you with a matrix of fields and tabs, lets you select which should be shown where, and ensures it all displays ok. Any thoughts?
