site_offline variable exists in db of my D7 site

Hi Folks, So today I just discovered that the variable for putting your site into maintenance mode for D7 is "maintenance_mode" (in D6 it is "site_offline". But here is the weird thing... in the db of a D7 site there is a row in the variables table for the variable: site_offline My guess on how it happened is that via drush I likely did: drush vset site_offline 1 I would not have gotten a warning that the variable didn't exist; I'm pretty sure Drush would have just created a row in the variables table for site_offline and set the value to "1". And I must not have checked to see whether the site was offline or not. Of course it wouldn't have been. But I just went on doing my thing and then set it "back" to site_offline 0, not doin' a friggin' thing to the Drupal install other than adding a meaningless row and value to the variables table. If that is the case, then I'll just delete that row from the db. Unless there is some other way that variable could have gotten there. Any other possible explanations? Also note, this site was a fresh D7 install, not an upgrade from D6. Thanks, Shai Gluskin

Module created tables in Views?

Can Views handle tables in the default database that are created and used by modules? I¹ve just tried to create a View to do just that, but nothing appears that¹s not a custom field to be used by a node type. Am I going to have to do this in the module? Drupal 7 by the way. LDAP & AD

Hey, I've poked around on drupal.org and have installed the LDAP module to integrate drupal with AD, but I'm a relative noob when it comes to LDAP and am having some issues getting going and the documentation seems to be lacking (or I'm looking in the wrong place). First off, what in your opinion is the best LDAP module in terms of ease of configuration etc.? I installed this one: http://drupal.org/project/ldap. We have a few permission groups in AD: IT, HR, Users (the latter being everyone else). IT would be mapped to Administrator, HR to Moderator, and Users to authenticated user. All of our users on AD sit in OU=User Accounts. We haven't got anything interesting configured for AD as far as I know, so I'm using "Derive Drupal role from DN" on the LDAP Authorization Configuration page, but I'm not sure what to put there. Do I put OU, or CN, or User Accounts, or OU=User Accounts? A lot of this is looking like greek to me. Derive roles by attribute or entry - those options I don't quite get. Help! Thanks, Jeff

I want to create a generic ubercart product so that an administrator can assign a price while within the add to cart page.

I want to create a generic ubercart product that has a price of 0.00, but when an administrator brings up this product they enter a decimal price of their choosing within a textual attribute and when they click the add to cart button this product is added to the shopping cart with the price that was entered within the textual attribute field. How would I implement this? Thanks, John

Links to Youtoube and others.

Hello all. What do you consider based on experiece the best option of module for having a link to youtube videos with a small explanation. A friend of mine, a reporter is uplaoding investigations to Youtube and we want to have links from my site to those. I am running Drupal 7.2. I have found several modules that seems to help me but I am not sure what's the best option. Thanks in advance Jorge Biquez

Child menu items not expanding on new menus (Drupal 7)

I posted a breadcrumb problem a couple days ago that it turns out is just a subset of this problem. I just tested this on a clean install of Drupal 7.2 with the same results. I apologize for the lack of brevity. The problem is when creating a new menu, the menu items do not respect the child/parent relationship like they do with the default Navigation menu. I created a new menu called Client menu. I then created a Client content-type assigned to this menu in menu settings. Then I created a new Client page, Documentation, with a parent item of Client menu. Then I created another Client page, A Product, with a parent of Documentation. I assigned Client menu to a block and it displays below Navigation. When I click Documentation, the A Product child does not display. Also, if I go to the A Product page directly, the breadcrumb shows Home > A Product, instead of Home > Documentation > A Product. If I set Client menu to expanded, then A Product DOES display as a child. However, the breadcrumb still shows Home > A Product. When I click list links in admin, the nesting displays properly. If I change the Client content type to use the default Navigation Menu instead of my Client Menu, everything works properly (proper breadcrumb trail, and clicking Documentation expands the sub-item). What do I have to do to a new menu to make the menu items function like the Navigation Menu? Thanks, Adam
