Trouble Ticketing in Drupal

I am looking for a Trouble Ticket module like most webhosts have--the client logs in, makes a ticket and then the staff is alerted via email and can fix the problem, update and close the ticket and the client is notified. OpenAtrium works like this BUT you have to manually create a private group for each client, otherwise all tickets are public. There is this comparison page http://groups.drupal.org/node/17948 but the data there is a bit sparse. These look like the top two: http://drupal.org/project/support 1324 sites currently report using this http://drupal.org/project/casetracker 3715 sites currently report using this While "casetracker" has more sites, "support" seems a bit more active, with the last commit 2 days ago (and 2 weeks ago for the other develoer) whereas casetracker was 25 weeks ago. Anyhow before I download and experiment with these two, any thoughts or feedback or experiences people have had with these, or other tools? I would consider a third party tool like OTRS but I prefer Drupal, if the requirements can be met. Thanks!

Reload page command?

I¹m writing a module that contains a function that inserts a new record in a custom database table. At the end of the function I want to reload the page to reflect the new record. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to do this in Drupal (7). I am new to Drupal, after I installed drupal and went to the default index.php page{attached file "1.jpg"} , on the page, whatever I clicked, all directed to the directory content {attached file "2.jpg"} anybody knows why? thank you

Ajax_command_replace

I¹m trying to replace the contents of a block in an ajax_command_replace function. I can¹t seem to address it right. Here¹s what I¹ve tried: $commands[] = ajax_command_replace('#user_favorites.content', $output); $commands[] = ajax_command_replace('#user_favorites->content', $output); $commands[] = ajax_command_replace('#user_favorites', $output); User_favorites is a block created and initially populated by a custom module and this is working fine. The ajax replacement of contents is not. Advise for new website

My company is looking to build an internal document/project/user management website, perhaps using Drupal 7. I would like some advise on module selection and site architecture. There are 3 things the site needs to do. 1. Documents A Document consists of a text file with many files associated with it. Ex: legal document with a lot of images, specifications, videos, etc. All the files will have tags associated with them for easy searching. It is important that a user be able to download an entire document at once (I think a zip file would work), or parts of a document, say all images associated with a particular document. 2. Projects A project is a group of documents, users on the project team, and an organized drop-box of files that people can easily share. A Drop-box is just a place to share files (they are not tagged, but are organized by what directory they are in and by their names). Example of the drop-box structure is a directory structure like so: project A legal specifications computations etc. Project B plan sets proposals etc. It is *VERY* important that user be able to move many files at once into and out of the drop-box (entire directories or large sets of chosen files). I have looked but can not find any easy way in Drupal to move many files back and forth between the client and server. Multiple file upload and download seems to be missing in Drupal core. Ideally there should be a simple file drag and drop module for moving files between client and server. 3. Users Users consists of an email address an image and a bunch of meta data (name, address, company, etc.) Mailing lists are very important. Creating/deleting mailing lists and adding/deleting users to the lists has be be easy.

Views, Panels etc

Hi All, I am trying to construct a page with just 2 cols and x rows. Should be populated by any content type named portfolio (screen shot images of work done). I created a view pretty quickly but am now confused about whether or not using panels will bring some benefit. In Tomlinson's book "Beginning Drupal 7" there is not too much detail to answer the questions I have and the examples are hopelessly out of date too. There also seem to be a lot of other features in Drupal I could possibly use, not documented in the book I am going to wade thru the online docs but thought your experience could help me and us. Joe, This is probably an over-simplification of your needs, but the first thing that popped into my mind was managing your documents using something like the menu interface, so that individual files can be dragged into a hierarchical sequence. That gives you the drag 'n drop interface you want too. Manually optimizing an image folder

One part of my site deals with quite large images. I've used an image optimizer and reduced all the image file sizes by about 30%. The problem is, if I just manually upload the whole folder, all the values in the filesize column of the "files" table will be wrong. My question is: does this really matter? Is there any negative side effect of this? Neil
