custom notification system

I'm working on a system developed in drupal. In this system create trophies to be assigned to users according to the behavior of these in different ways. Trophies will have categories related to aspects. I need each time you create one of these categories will send a notification to the user webmaster and this will give permission to be believed or not the proposed category. The problem I see is that all these modules I created without using precisely the nodes in drupal, I mean, use separate tables, and I think that the application of the actions and triggers will not adequate as i need, using the hook_nodeapi. Someone can give me any suggestions on how we could create a notifications system that meets my expectations?

Mark, Thanks -- I think I figured out what the problem is. I have the content type set so only authenticated users can submit it. But it was still visible to non-authenticated users (my mistake), so if you fill out the form anonymously, it didn't create a node accessible through Drupal content management, but did enter values in the database, which the view was picking up. Not totally sure what is happening here because I have a filter set to display "published content" only in the view. But I do believe that's the issue. MySQL Tables / CCK Nodes / Views

I have created a View that displays a list of a links to nodes. The nodes displayed are a CCK content type that I created. If I delete one of these content items, it still shows in the View, although if you click on the link, it goes to a 404. I have to go into the MySQL table and delete it manually to get it out of the View. I know that this has to be something basic that I'm doing wrong, but I can't see it. Any ideas are welcome! If not you can build a module that import your database (one line is one node) and that attach a file into a node. content/node translation question

Hi all, I have create a simple website containing 6 static web pages using drupal. Around 4 pages created are forms containing various form fields. Now, i have to convert the same into a multilingual website. I do not want to create a separate page for the forms as i need only the form field lable(s) to be translated into multiple languages and not the field data (which will be in english only). For example, the form contains fields like: Name Middle Name Surname Qualification My question: Can i simply create a .po file containing translations for the above mentioned strings ? This will help me customize the form later, for example, like re-arrange the position of fields. Can someone please guide me on this. Regards, Vishy

Using another database table

I have downloaded our documents database which contains 600 pdf and doc files. It is mysql but not drupal. How can I bulk transfer those pdf's to drupal database - document content type? Views doesn't seem to permit file handling. I need to be able to set up a way of selecting documents, deleting or rejecting the unsuitable pdf and doc files once in drupal. thanks in advance Roger

Error messages in Drupal 7 upgrade

Hi. I'm getting the following error messages when I Edit content on a Drupal page, version 7. Notice: Undefined index: description in field_multiple_value_form() (line 146 of/Applications/MAMP/htdocs/es/modules/field/field.form.inc). Notice: Undefined index: required in field_multiple_value_form() (line 164 of/Applications/MAMP/htdocs/es/modules/field/field.form.inc). Notice: Undefined index: required in field_multiple_value_form() (line 193 of/Applications/MAMP/htdocs/es/modules/field/field.form.inc). I just upgraded a small test Drupal 6 site to Drupal 7. I'm using the Bartik 7.0-beta2 theme. I can't get the dropdown menus in the Main Menu tabs, Primary Links to drop down. I only get the link to the page specified for the parent link. Hi Maurice Yes Drupal 6 is right. Have filefield installed. I don't want to give contributors access to /sites/default but to a communal repository somewhere on the server which can be reviewed by a responsible person with accept or reject permission. I would prefer that files are uploaded then reviewed, then the responsible person places them in /sites/default/ some_directory. Begs a question. panels work on preview, not on page

I have created a panels pages, it works as expected (some views inside) when using preview; but when visiting the page it looks empty. If I look node/731/devel/render in content there is the panels html. Any hint?
