Problem with hook_block on Drupal 6.x

Hi, I've created a module whose sole purpose is to add a few banners to the left region of our sites. Here's the code I'm using: function banners_block($op) { if ($op == "list") { return array( "banners" => array( "info" => "Banners", "cache" => BLOCK_NO_CACHE, "weight" => 50, "status" => 1, "region" => "left", "visibility" => 0, "pages" => "", ), ); } else if ($op == "view") { return array( "subject" => "<none>", "content" => "<p>" . time() . "</p>\n", ); } } However, when I activate this module, it does not appear in the blocks configuration page and no content is added to the "left" region. I've emptied the cache, logged out and back in again, run cron, and nothing appears. If I put a little debug line like: echo "."; right after the 'if ($op == "list") {' line, it does display a period at the top of each page, so I'm sure that the module is being loaded and executed. It's just not displaying the block anywhere. If I put a similar debug line after the '$op == "view"' line, no dot gets displayed on any page. Am I doing something wrong? Youtube video playing twice

wow... check this wierd bug. YouTube Video will autoplay, then two seconds later I can hear the audio start again in the background. Pausing the player only stops one instance of the video/audio. It's only on Internet Explorer. No probelms with Firefox. Gmaps help

Hi, all! Thank you for your support on my previous email. I'm trying to understand how to use the Gmaps module. I really don't understand anything, so it wouldn't be effective for me to waste everyone's time on the list. What I would really appreciate is if you could point out some good current HOW TO guides. I have been looking around, but everything seems rather old. (drupal 5, often!) This is what I want to do: I have a list of places I have been and places I want to go to. I have their addresses and names. Places I have been I have multiple pictures of. Places I haven't, I have varying degrees of information. I'd like one big map that shows markers for all places. There should be one color for places I have been, one color for places I haven't. You should be able to go from the marker to a page for that place. That place specific page should show a close up map, all the pictures, and any other information I have. I would prefer for that page to be one node, though I have seen things done with views. It would be great that if I created a new node of that type, a new marker showed up on the big map. Thank you for your help! anonomous users and $_Get variables

Hello, We are having some trouble with using $_Get variables in Drupal with anonymous users. We have several pages using PHP input that take a variable from the query string. For example: echo $_GET['myvar']; For anonymous users, the GET variables sent in the query string are ignored, so the above code would not print anything. The strange thing is that this works fine for an authenticated user, i.e. if you are logged in the above code will print the value of myvar= sent in the query string. Any ideas as to why this is happening and how to allow GET variables to work for anonymous users? Advice on availability-type module(s)

Hi all, I'm looking at a "volunteer then chosen" situation. It would work something like this: 1. Member signs up, indicating name/location/qualifications, etc. [easy - core] 2. An "availability calendar" is set up for a period. 3. Each member can indicate, up to say a month ahead, his availability on a day-by-day basis (maybe two types of availability - single day or multi-day block). 3.5 Member can edit his availability. 4. When the occasion arises, the "customer" can view the whole calendar and accept some members' offers (mark them "used"). 5. some statistical views would be nice (e.g. customer can see who has been used for how many days this period.) [also easy] Mapping this to the real world, member <=> volunteer firefighter (specialist roles) customer <=> fire service management occasion <=> fire requiring specialist resources period <=> fire season (6-8 months) I'm sure there are one or more modules that either do all this out-of-the-box, or could be easily massaged into doing so. I just need steering towards it/them. Any suggestions gratefully received. [I've poked around a bit, and the availability and reservation modules I've seen aren't suitable.] TIA, Peter

List brother/sister node

Hi list, I want to have a block that list sister or brother node's title of the current node. I use Taxonomy for each node. I have 3 level: Level1 Level1.1 Level1.1.1 Level1.1.2 Level1.2 Level1.2.1 Level1.2.2 Level2 Level2.1 ... When I display a node of Level1.1.1 I want to have a block with all Level1.1.1 node's titles. Which module I must use ? And how to config it. I'm trying Views and Panels, but I don't find the good settings. Thanks in advance for your help and to put me in the good way. Regards, Ceooph

Administer OG group users

Hi All, I am working on a project where i need to allow OG admin to administer group (create, edit and block) users from site. My requirement is very similar to the one explained here http://drupal.org/node/696664 I would like to know if anyone has modules or workaround to achieve this. I tried OG user roles [1] and Userplus [2] module but nothing is closer to what i need. Any pointers pertaining to this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hiding a site, best practice?

Drupal 6.16 (at this moment) Longtime Drupal user but not much of a PHP coder. Since I am temporary leaving the college I have taught, I need to close the student portal site but I want the site to be still accessible to them. In short, I need to hide this site from the public. What I need is the home page to be showing only the login block and a short sentence or even placing iFrame from my other sites. Once student logs in, they get the same website they are used to but its HOME needs not to be the public home page but their old homepage instead. How to run a script when a node is added for a custom module

I am currently developing a module for the audio module to enable RTMP streaming and FFMPEG encoding. I am wondering what the best approach is to run the scp command (like flash video) when an audio node is added (to add the file to an RTMP server)? Can I use hook_form_alter to run this command? I am looking through the Drupal API at the moment. I also want to run an ffmpeg command as well when the node is added to encode the media for storage on the rtmp server. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Cheers, scarer
