Automatic term selection

i would like to end users to fill out forms on a site am working on via secure https is there a module that can assist with this or i have to configure apache p.s am using drupal 5.7 -- David Njuki.

Dear All, Is there a way in Drupal, that I can have a message at the bottom of my pages, saying something like 'This site last updated on XXX date'? Then, every time I make a change to the site or add content the 'last updated' would automatically update? If so how can this be done? Regards, Stuart.

Panels/Views Promote to Front Page Problem

Is it possible to retain the meaning of "promote to front page" when using a panel for a home page? Here is the problem... I use a Panel for the home page and it has several views. Right now I have the views set to filter on "promoted to front page" as a requirement for selecting nodes. The problem is that those views meaningfully exist on their own URLs. On those URL's I want all the nodes to show up based on the other criteria, but not filter on "promoted to home page." When the web editor unchecks "promote to front page" for a particular node, those nodes now disappears from the View as well. The simple answer is to clone the view, make one filter on promote to front page and the other not. That would turn my four home page views into 8, ughh. *My idea:* Create an argument in the View. But when I click on argument in the Views UI I *don't see* what I want to see in the drop down: node:promoted to front page. I'm running Drupal 5.7 and Views 1.6. I'm using Panels 1 dev version from 9/07 (will now update that to Panels 1.2 now that I noticed I'm behind on that one). Any help on the argument idea or other ways to do what I want to do would be much appreciated. Thanks, Shai

module architecture question

Hi folks, I'm new to module building and am working on a dynamic org chart module, a node type that displays an org chart via Graphviz with data pulled dynamically from LDAP/Active Directory. I already am using ldap_integration and profile module to pull in the data for a phone directory. My questions: 1. where in the module should I place code that actually queries user profiles and converts profile data (there is a reportsTo field that defines relationships) to graphviz dot syntax? Functionally, it would need to happen when a new node is created, or an existing node is updated. Should I add a custom function in the module for pulling this data based on the "top" user, and then call that function in hook_insert and hook_update? 2. data storage - in my install file, I create a new table (orgchart) with nid, vid, top, and depth. How should I be storing the "top" data - username or uid?. Does there need to be some kind of index or foriegn key to relate "top" to the record in the users table? mapbuilder?

Has anyone attempted to take imported data (e.g. RSS) and plot it on maps using the mapbuilder module and the community mapbuilder library? If so, I'd like like to hear generally how you accomplished that. Thanks, ..chris

newbie views url

hi, i am new to drupal in general. not sure what is meant by path or url in views jargon. for example in the help area, they use the words path and url as follows: Arguments, or additional parameters that dynamically refine the view results, passed as part of the path. Adding an argument of Node: Type to a node view with a path of "content", for example, dynamically filters the displayed items by content type. In this example (shown with Clean URLs enabled), accessing the view through the path "http://www.example.com/content/page" displays all posts of the type "page", the path "http://www.example.com/content/story" displays all posts of the type "story", and "http://www.example.com/content" displays all posts regardless of type) i thought that a "view" generates a page (or block etc) containing the list generated by the filters set in the views adminstration menu. this page will have a url (path, etc) (??) but the way its defined here, path is an argument passed to "view" to set the filter (??) could someone explain the diference and in, drupal 6.2, explain where to set the URL or path in the views administration menu? thx, brian _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live SkyDrive lets you share files with faraway friends. http://www.windowslive.com/skydrive/overview.html?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_Refresh…

events module date : 1970

Hi, We have upgraded a site from 4.7 to 5.7. The dates for all events show as jan 1st 1970. Has anyone seen this issue before? the site is multi lingual, but I have upgraded multi lingual sites before and not seen this issue -v

Download on an html when accessing a node

Hello, sometimes when I access a node my browser downloads an html file like node-id.htm instead of retriweving the page. Is it a performance issue? Thank's Pol

Removing Modules

Greetings, I've not removed any modules in awhile, so maybe something has changed in the last few versions. However, when I disable, (possibly) uninstall, and then delete the /www/sites/all/modules/XX module folder, in 5.7, the module is not being removed from the list at /admin/build/modules. In some cases, the modules are marked "(missing)" in red, in other case not. Regardless, they're not going away, but in my memory they should be. Any thoughts on what I might do to completely remove modules? Brian
