DB.sessions.sid not populated for first user

Hi. We are working on a new install and unable to login after creating the first account. When we try to request a new password, we receive the email and visit the change-password page, but pressing the button sends us to the not-authorized page. This hasn't been an issue on other installs, but this is our first from-scratch install. Anyone have any suggestions? Access Denied when trying to create first account

Hi, We've installed several successful Drupal sites on other servers, but having a difficult couple of days with a new install. After the install is complete, and we click on the link to create the first admin user/pass, everything seems to be going ok. When we click to save the new user/pass, we expect to see the message to check our email for user/pass. Instead, we get the standard login screen. We get the actual email, and when we click the email and get the page with the "login" button, clicking it results in the "Access Denied" page. When trying to log in via the usual user/pass combo, we go back to the normal first page with the username & password fields still there. The watchdog table seems to indicate we logged in correctly. We've reinstalled Drupal several times, and cleaned out the database/reinstalled. I've checked the forums, but the issues that seem related are about Drupal 4.x. Here's our setup, what are we missing? Drupal 5.3 MySQL 5.0 PHP 5.2.5 Apache2.2 Windows2003 Server Thanks in advance Joe

Controlling Node Access For Projects

I'm writing a module that will control access to projects at a user level instead of a role level. I have an admin form written that will allow an administrator to select which users can access each project, and stores the data in a project_permissions table. My next task is to figure out how to use this data to control access to each project. From what I've been able to find, it looks like I need to use a combination of hook_node_grants() and hook_node_access_records(). I have my hook_node_access_records function written as follows: /* * Implementation of hook_node_access_records() */ function project_permissions_node_access_records($node) { if ($node->type == 'project_project') { $sql = "SELECT * FROM project_permissions WHERE nid = %d"; $result = db_query($sql, $node->nid); while ($permission = db_fetch_object($result)) { $grants[] = array( 'realm' => 'project_permissions', 'gid' => $permission->uid, 'grant_view' => TRUE, 'grant_update' => TRUE, 'grant_delete' => TRUE, ); } return $grants; } } and it correctly saves the data to the node_access table. I'm still trying to figure out how to implement hook_node_grants. If anyone can shed some light on that, I'd appreciate it. But my bigger question is this: does using these two hooks override the access that is set in the Project module? For instance, if a users role has been granted view access, but in my module he hasn't been granted access, which will win? Thanks. Steve

Invalid Links After Moving Site

I created a Drupal site in two different places - a subdomain on my hosting account, and on my local machine. It's finally ready to go live, so I uploaded the files to the new web server where it belongs. I uploaded the files via FTP, created the database, and then used a dump from my local PC to create the tables on the server. When I pull up the site (using the IP address and user id, i.e. http://12.12.12.12/~acctname), the main page comes up fine. When I hover over a link, such as to the contact page, it shows correctly in the status bar (http://12.12.12.12/~acctname). But when I click on any link, I get http://12.12.12.12/~acctname/~acctname/~acctname/~acctname/~acctname/~acctn… where the user id is duplicated 20 times. I called my host, and they say it's something internal. I have a hard time believing that, since it runs fine in two other places. Could something have happened in the move that screwed something up? Validation Error - AGAIN ... GOD STOP IT!!!!!!

After deleting the drupal_user and drupal database from the MySQL database .... I did a fresh install .... created the database all over again ..... Installed the CCK .... and the link and imagefield .... AND THE SAME VALIDATION ERROR IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

removing fivestar from printable pages

Hi, I am using the printable module to display a printable version of the content on my site. I'm also using the fivestar voting module. I want to prevent the fivestar voting form from being displayed on the printable version of the site's content. Is there a way to do this? Any help would be great. Thanks, Sarah

Google translate

Hello, I'm not sure this is the right place to ask this so let me know if not. I'm working on a site that will be very mulit-lingual. This will be a community site where every node created by a user should be automatically translated into as many languages as possible. I'd like to use a 3rd party online translating service such as bablefish or google (I prefer google). I've tried the internationalization module but the auto translations didn't work for me. Any one know how to go about this, any tips or know of any existing modules? Thanks Idan

CCK fields

I have Drupal 5.3 I installed the CCK just fine. The additions of link, date, and image field were added to the following directories: sites/all/modules/date sites/all/modules/link sites/all/modules/imagefield The date one is giving me a hassle and caused some errors which I am not sure if something is completely broken or not. Message/Table 'drupal.cache_views' doesn't exist query: DELETE FROM cache_views WHERE cid = 'date_browser_views'/ in //apps/resin/www/whatis_drupal/webapps/ROOT/includes/database.mysql.inc/ on line /172/. AND the error message: /'././views.module' is not a valid path [date_clear_all]/ in //apps/resin/www/whatis_drupal/webapps/ROOT/sites/all/modules/date/date.install/ on line /49/. I did not see where I needed something before I installed the date module (short of CCK itself). Is there an easy fix for this? Do I need to fix anything? The last issue when adding a group or a field is giving me this error: Validation error, please try again. If this error persists, please contact the site administrator. Where is this coming from? Why is it random? And how can I fix it? I should say ... I had another dev machine, and I added most of my fields before I downloaded link, date, or imagefield ... And I did not get any of these validation errors .... this is maddening since it doesn't tell me what is not validated. Thanks for any help you can provide! Tom
