create custom editing forms with views?

Hi, I have a gallery on my home page of my photography site http://sander-martijn.com/. The order of the photos is set by a custom integer field named order. This is working well except when I have to edit them - to reorder (not only when I switch the order but if I want to take one off the end and stick another in the middle) I have to edit every image's order number separately until it's appearing in the order I want. This is similar to changing weight of an item in a menu for example. I would like to create an admin "view" or other form that displays a list all of my images (custom content type not the default image type) with the order pulldown available so that I can reorder them all on one page. I immediately thought of views but afaik you can't have a form element on a view like that. Am I wrong with this, and if so does anyone have any other suggestions for creating succh a batch editing page? I'd rather not build a whole module just for this purpose (not too comfortable with how to deal with forms in modules yet). .s

Installation of Drupal 5.4

I just did a clean fresh un-tarring of Drupal 5.4. I haven't created the database part yet, though the screen comes up. So, I am constantly checking the Apache error_log and in going to this screen (database install) .... I get these messages. What you need to do is make use of yum. That is the default package manager for centos. Doing something like 'yum search mysql' or 'su -c "yum search mysql"' should give you a list of packages with mysql in it to install. More help is available on the http://www.centos.org site. I recommend that you use the pre-compiled packages to make it easier to maintain your sites. moving contributed modules to /sites/all

Hi, I've just taken over a Drupal project which has had contributed modules places in the core modules directory. I'd like to move them out of there to /sites/all while keeping all the settings. Having never put modules in the core directory myself I'm not sure how to fix it ... Any tips on how it should be achieved would be much appreciated. -- Sean

require_once question inside a new node

Hi all, I want to integrate Alitalk, a free PHP-AJAX web based chat solution (http://www.alilg.com/software/free-php-ajax-chat/) with Drupal. Alitalk comes in a zip file with a bunch of directories and a index.php file in its root. This index.php file contains a few php directives and the necessary javascripts. So, to start, I create a new page in Drupal and paste the contents of the index.php there. I've put alitalk's files inside a directory called alitalk in the Drupal root. I changed all paths using base_path() and the alitalk prefix. When I click on Submit to create the page, I get the error: Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/~lourdas/dpot/alitalk/functionz/first_process.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/php5:/usr/share/php') in /home/lourdas/public_html/dpot/includes/common.inc(1343) : eval()'d code on line 8 (dpot is the Drupal root dir inside public_html) There are a few include directives before that which seem to execute fine. So, the question comes up: Is there a problem using require_once in PHP mode during a new node creation? Authenticated users cannot see content

Hi, Only user 1 in my drupal 5 install can see any content, even when published. Is there something else I should look for? Thanks. Joe
