Editing Primary Links

Hey guys .... everything is fine so far, and we are still evaluating Drupal .... we'll see what happens. In any event, I have a static web-site that has about 800-900 pages .... yep almost 1000 static.html pages. I want to port this to Drupal .... the issue is that every static HTML page controls the left, right, header, footer of the page .... all of which I want controll by Drupal. What is the best way to do this? And because I have done some research on this ... I am guessing .... 1) use the "Import HTML" module which I saw and import the web-site .... that might work for some pages ..... and I could do this for starters. 2) I could manually tear apart and go through the time and conversion to create proper blocks and remove the main content, the main body, and then create Drupal Page Content Types for that .... 3) I could create a new Menu system for this site and point to URLs ... in this case they'd be files on the local server ... so maybe that won't work. Should I even bother to use themes for this site? I guess I have to use one theme, so I started creating a new theme from Newsportal. So ... I was manually converting the first page .... I am modifying the page.tpl.php to add my own header and images .... If this was any standard Apache web-site ... the images would be in one subdirectory under the root ... in this case, I took all the old images from the site and moved them to the /sites/all/themes/newtheme/images directory .... so now in this first page I have to create image src to "$base_path_url/sites/all/themes/newtheme/images/myimage.jpg" is there a better shortcut than that? I will look at other themes ..... The old web-site had it's own menu-bar at the top of the page, just under the header of the page. I presumed that is Navigation? I turned the primary links on and I get the Home | Create Content | My Account | News Aggregator | Administer | Log Out The same as on the right-sidebar. I want to make the primary links my own menu. So, I am guessing I should turn off primary links in the page.tpl.php and use my own HTML code that was there originally. So many questions .... so little time .... If I need to provide any extra data, please let me know ..... And BTW ... Drupal 5.5 on Resin 3.1.4 is rock-solid .... for now .....

Never had this happen... I pretty much always have it set to show on another page so you have to click a link to comment. I appear to be getting the correct url, "comment/reply/9#comment-form", but no new form.

My comment form will not open on a new page. The admin comment settings for location is set to "Display on separate page", but it never does. Is this a bug or what? I'm using a bunch CCK types but even when I used a basic page type the comment form always appeared at the bottom. eric.

tinyMCE Showing in php mode

On one of my sites I recently enabled tinyMCE for views editing for the client (against my wishes, but that's how client management works sometimes). Some of the views use php mode in the headers and as this is the first time the two crossed paths this is the first time I have noticed that tinyMCE isn't disabling itself when the field is in php mode. Searching the forums I found that it is supposed to be disabled, but couldn't find anyone saying that it was enabled for them. tinyMCE messes with the php code such that even if you disable it the php code is still garbled. Anyone know why this is happening? I tried to find a configuration where it might be accidentally enabled for that mode but couldn't. I tried input formats, tinyMCE configuration and access control but don't see it in any of these places. .sander

module suggestions for sending emails with personalized cck content

I'd like admins to be able to send emails to ad hoc selected batches of users (eg ones with content in a certain workflow state, filtering on user profile fields, etc), maybe with some presents (eg state=coordinator_approved and profile.signed_form_received=false). The email body needs to contain text from the admin (eg You need to send us your signed form before you can participate as followsJ as well as listings of cck nodes related to the user (their content that is in a particular workflow state). I'd like suggestions on what modules might be good for implementing this. Do I need to write something that would depend on Mimemail, Views, and Token, or is there something more appropriate? Personal, private tags for content?

Does anyone know of a way currently to add your own tags to other people's content within a Drupal site? I know of the community tags module, but I'm looking for a way for people to be able to organise content within a site according to their own taxonomies, instead of a shared taxonomy that anyone can edit. Answer based on this thread: When I posted to mail list, I did not change the "user login" block configure, all are default setting, I also can see the login window, but can not see the logout link for autherticated user But now I had more troube, I click the check box "show block for specific roles" for "autthenticated user" under "user login" block. I can ot go back to admin to reset it, plus there is no login window and logout link.... do you know how to set it back? BTW, how to reply the email from maillist thread? When you create an authenticated user, that use only has the permissions granted to that role by the admin. Go to administer, the look for something like "roles" or "user permissions" (I am using 5.0, may not be the same). The Admin can control what parts of the site are visible to the various roles (such as authenticated user). The default is to not give much authority to a role.
