theming primary links, or absolute paths when drupal is in a sub-directory

I'm puzzling through a few things at once and starting to hit walls on this one as well. I've got drupal set up in a subdirectory of a larger site. That larger site is in subversion and I run a staging site and a few local incarnations of it, which means that the site's domain name changes periodically, from "staging.example.com" to "example.local" or "www.example.com" Right now, I've got the site's overall primary links in drupal as primary links, and I'd like to keep them there, but drupal is gobbling up the absolute paths even though they're absolute: I gave the menu path as "/news/" and drupal points to "http://staging.example.com/drupal//news/" when I'm aiming for "http://staging.example.com/news" I spent a lot of time monkeying with clean URLs on the theory that they'd fix this, only to discover ... nope. I've looked around for a themeable function that would let me wrestle links into being relative to the site as a whole, not relative to drupal, but I'm not seeing it. This doesn't appear to be controlled by "theme_menu_links" http://api.drupal.org/api/function/theme_menu_links/5 Any suggestions? slideshow template

Hello, I'm trying to place a slideshow (I tried cck_slideshow, slideshow, and slideshow_creator...) into a node-type.tpl.php without luck. Can I do this? I don't know how to use the TAG to place it. Views and Panels Solution

So, my homepage was displaying the full posts in the left panel instead of the teaser, which I wanted. It was pulling from a view called, features. I actually had to go into the settings for the individual content type "company profile" to change the settings. At the bottom of a long list were the on off switches for the teaser, and I had them all set to on. Now only two are on, and two display for each post on the homepage and the view. redirect login block when user enters wrong user/pass

Hi First, I realize what I'm doing isn't the most usable, but it's how the client wants it. On the homepage, the user login block is styled all fancy and compact. Unfortunately, it's compactness prevents a place for an error message if the user messes up their username or password. So, what I'd like to do, when the form fails validation, is redirect the user to "/user" which displays the regular login form along with the error messages that would of displayed within the block. I tried the following (in my own module), function myutility_form_alter($form_id, &$form) { switch ($form_id) { case 'user_login_block': $form['#validate'] = array('utility_user_login_validate' => array($form_id, $form)); unset($form['links']); break; } } function myutility_user_login_validate($form_id, $form_values) { user_login_validate($form_id, $form_values); if (count(form_get_errors()) > 0) { drupal_set_message('test error message'); //print "here"; drupal_goto('user'); } } The drupal_goto doesn't seem to work here. I'm fairly confident the code is making it to the drupal_goto because if I uncomment the "print" statement is does get called and prints out "here". Any ideas why drupal_goto isn't working in this case? Thanks for the help.

One Block, Two Weights?

For the Aggregator block, I want it to show up in a sidebar at a certain weight on one page, but at a different weight on another page. Is this time for a php snippet (any leads?) or is there an obvious solution I'm missing. Shai

Display Field Totals in Views

Does anyone know of a module, or how in general I would get this to work, i'm no programmer so the simpler the better. I have a small time tracking site I am building but am stuck at how I would display the total time spent in specific views. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -- Chris McCreery

Front page settings

I have two panes on my front page, each pulling from a view. I wanted to make them display a teaser of the whole node, but they are displaying the entire thing. I looked at admin/content/node-settings and everything is in order there. I checked its view type: teaser and it is set to page. The panels are pulling from that view, then displaying on the front page. Any ideas? --ian--

using search with jokers ?

Hi there again, here's my second question : search in drupal seems to be done only on "full" words. e.g. : if I have the word "drupal" indexed into my site, the search on "drupa" doesn't return anything. Is it possible to search with "drupa%" or "drupa*" with a patch/module ? Pierre-Yves PS : I'm sorry : I guess this question must have been asked a thousand times, but I couldn't find anything (I may use wong keywords...)

[bug in valid_url ?] url with specials chars not filtered

Hello world, Here's my first question (Drupal 5.3) : some of my input text fields contains urls like : - http://collab.sakaiproject.org/portal/site/!gateway/page/!gateway-100 or - http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Configuration_settings_(alphabetical) This url are not converted like others in url (i suppose because some "!" and "(" are part of them). I found that http://api.drupal.org/api/function/valid_url/5 may be incomplete for some regular, W3C and RFCs valid chars : ------- function valid_url($url, $absolute = FALSE) { $allowed_characters = '[a-z0-9\/:_\-_\.\?\$,;~=#&%\+]'; if ($absolute) { return preg_match("/^(http|https|ftp):\/\/". $allowed_characters ."+$/i", $url); } else { return preg_match("/^". $allowed_characters ."+$/i", $url); } } ------------- Same thing for http://api.drupal.org/api/function/_filter_url/5 I'm quite surprised of that... Found some pseudo patches on the web (like http://amadain.net/node?page=2 ) but I I'm curious to know what some regular signs are not added to the regex.... Is it a bug or a feature ? If it's a bug (I think that someone else must have already noticed that behavior) should I report it ? By the way, I tried to complete the regex by moifying $allowed_characters = '[a-z0-9\/:_\-_\.\?\$,;~=#&%\+]'; with $allowed_characters = '[a-z0-9\/:_\-_\.\?\$,;~=#&%\+!]'; and same in _filter_url function, but it doesn't seems to work... :-( Any Idea why ? cheers Pierre-Yves

Webform Confirmation Message Customization

There is a question here: http://drupal.org/node/139629 about how to show the user the data he inputted in a webform in the confirmation message. This is actually common practice for websites nowadays AFAIK. Anyhow the solution given here: http://drupal.org/node/139629#comment-259401 doesn't work for me. Nor any other. Both of these: print_r($form_id); print_r($form_values); show nothing. Can anyone tell me how I can display the data the user entered? Thanks.
