Panels and theming

Hello, Is it possible to custom theme a panel? I don't mean by using css, but I need to have custom .tpl.php files to display the content of each region in a panel. Is that possible? Right now, I have a couple of blocks displayed in the panel, but they are rendered as in block.tpl.php, but I don't want that (currently, block.tpl.php defines a table and I do not want to display the containing blocks of a panel region inside a table). Page Callback

I am looking at this sample module: http://api.drupal.org/api/file/developer/examples/page_example.module/5 but I am not getting it. The "A simple page callback." seems like it makes http://mysite.com/foo call the function page_example_foo() and so the user will see "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." I tried adding this code to my Drupal 5.2 but it doesn't seem to work. Can you someone show me how I can setup such a thing? That http://mysite.com/foo returns the output which I determine from a function. I don't actually need a menu item--I want the user to select an option in a dropdown and then submit a little form--based on their input I perform a search. What I can't figure out is how to get the search results to the browser. Thanks!

I need to create multiple CCk nodes as an action.

I am able to query the nodes linked to a specific taxonomy and generate nodes, but in my loop the nodes get over written and in the end I hav eonly the last node. How do I get the taxonomy id from a node

$category =$node->taxonomy; I get the array and assign the same to my new node, it works, but how do retrieve the taxonomy id from the $node->taxonomy? thanks Shyamala

URL Alias with Argument

My store 'category page' needs to show a list of subcategories, each with an image and text. I have taxonomy image and I wrote a bit of PHP on a page to create EXACTLY what I need. The only drawback is that the URL is /node/7/x where x is the category id. I would like to use of course /cat/x but I don't see a way to do this. I know that I in theory could have used Views to create the page in the first place, but I didn't see easily how to do this (including the taxonomy image) nor am I an expert in Views. So is there a way to achieve a URL alias with an argument? I don't want to enter each one /cat/1 /cat/2 manually. :( Thanks!

Removing the date from the "Page" content type

Hey guys, I'm new to Drupal so please be patient with me. What I'm trying to do is to remove the date from the "Page" content type so that no date is displayed when a "Page" is viewed. Any help would be very much appreciated, Lucas

Advanced user profile

Hi, Any module/coding tip for advanced user profiles? What I'm looking for is ability to add new user profile fields (eg. phone number) and allow the user to hide/show them from other users upon their preference. I know the core profile module offers this ability, but I'm more interested in my second requirement. How portable are drupal web sites?

As an old-time unix hacker, I know my way around the inside of a web server pretty well, but right now I'm in "I want a tool not a hobby" mode and need to find a web hosting service for a club I belong to. There seem to be plenty of places out there offering amazing amounts disk/bandwidth/etc for amazingly low prices, and it's not clear how to determine which are fly-by-night and which are reliable. So, the question is, if I go with a hosting service and later decide to switch to a different provider, how hard is it to pick up my drupal-based site and move it to another host? Is it as simple as finding another place that offers LAMP services, dumping the database, and restoring it onto the new server? And, of course, changing the DNS registration. -- roy(a)panix.com

Multi-site question

Hello, In a multi-site, where all the sites share the same installation, is it also a good idea to have them all share the same database but using a different prefix? Or is there a reason why this would be a bad idea? I would prefer to have fewer databases since my webhost likes to charge a fee for each database we have, but not if it's going to cause a lot of problems later. Thanks, Daniel.
