menu items with no link

Hi all! How do you make a menu item without a link? Like a subheader? On drupal.org there are two menu items that don't have links (Play patch bingois one) on the Contributor Links menu. Since path is required to make a menu item, not sure how to do this. ... Unless the contributor links menu is NOT a menu and just a custom block? Have no access to menus on two of my sites

Hello all, For weeks now I cannot access the ADMIN/MENU page for my two largest sites, culturekitchen and The Daily Gotham. culturekitchen is a Drupal install (Drupal 4.6). The Daily Gotham is a CivicSpace install (with drupal 4.5). This is what I get for both pages whenever i try to access them : > > Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/ > liza/domains/dailygotham.com/public_html/includes/bootstrap.inc on > line 331 > Any ideas as to what is causing this? / liza

Merge sites/import & export?

I have a rather ... odd situation. I have two Drupal sites whose content must be merged. That is, all the nodes and comments of site #2 must be somehow exported and then imported into site #1. If the import-export module worked, I'd use that, but I'm on 4.7 on both sites. Thoughts? A simple MySQL dump will not do it because the ID numbers will conflict. -- Adam Knight If you're not going to stop and appreciate the scenery, you're not going to enjoy Myst. path view and linking questions

Hi, Coming to a public release soon of http://www.clnews.org/drupal/ The site/folder is a continuation of http://www.clnews.org/ I don't think I can just change the folder named "drupal" to "stories". Correct? Everything is on a hosting server under one www folder. Which has been configured in the MySQL and PHP files. So I guess all that would have to be changed. Right? Are there any workarounds so that visitors will not be confused by reading the path in the browser address field? Also wish to share connecting links from one to the other on the front pages of both. Any suggestions on either are much appreciated. Thanks and Cheers, Tony Budak

drupal page cache and squid

Hi all, I'm playing with accelerating a drupal site behind a squid cache. Before turning on the page cache in drupal, squid never hit its cache for drupal pages. After enabling the page cache, squid hits its cache for anonymous pages and has pretty amazing performance. I'm wondering if this is too good to be true. Is this an inadvertant feature of the page cache? Has anybody else ran into this or have a comment to add? -- Matt Rae Open Source Lab Oregon State University

2002 error

mysql -u xclnews -p xclnews-drupal < /big/dom/xclnews/www/drupal/database/database4.0.mysql I did a telnet or SSH session and entered the above command at a command prompt. Then I get a request for password, enter password and then I get a "2002 error, can't connect to local mysql server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' " Any help PLEASE

PHP PostgresSQL support not enabled

When I try to view my drupal 4.7.0 site for the first time I see this : http://www.blastwave.org/dclarke/PostgreSQL.gif Haven't done much with PHP5 and PDO - but PDO is the new way of providing a unified database layer in PHP. Previously, all database functions were non portable (mysql_connect, pgsql_query, oracle_foo etc.) So I guess Drupal is looking for the "old style" extensions, and hasn't been made PDO aware? Do I have to go back to PHP4 ? Or should I go looking for a PostgreSQL PDO module for PHP5 ? Dennis

db errors by me

I happen to have deleted permissions table off my db along with some other tables that were invalid. Due to a upgrade failure on my part to turn off simple_access. I have now copied over a slighty broken dump of my db and recreated the needed tables for the site. Problem now is when I login with my account that used to be a admin, I cant view any pages except my profile. This would mean I have no permissions, being clueless to the permissions table and what the fields stand for, can someone point me into the right direction or provide some advice on how to recreate the permissions table to suit my wanted priviledges. I have also tried to change my UID in user from 10 to 0, I did this because uid 0 is suppose to be the first and default admin account. However then I get "user does not exist" when I try to login so this simple fix did nothing. best regards and thank you in advance for any advice.
