Base URL Problem

I am setting up a new test server on Ubunt Linux. Every thing was looking Good, until I tried to get past the first page in Drupal. I copy this whole site directory from Windows to Linux the databases are identical every thing is the same. Except that the windows machine used php5. The Linux machine is using php4.3. I figure it's something to do with the apache 2 setup or configuration. This is the base string $base_url = 'http://localhost/inmrc'; This is the error I get. The requested URL /inmrc/user was not found on this server. The base directory string is correct, but it seams to ignore the http://localhost <http://localhost/> part Has anybody experienced this? Welcome to email hell. There are four major posibilities for you. 1. People who have your email address in their address book have been infected by a virus and are sending at random. This is your best hope as it may someday be fixed. 2. You're screwed. Domains and names get used by spammers. We did for a while. The best you can do is craft a one page email about what is happening and refer angry people to it when they send you email. Your hope of tracking them done is small. Email servers can claim to be someone else. Easily. This is why spam is easy. There is no real method to identify someone as who they say they are. There is a movement to establish SPF records as an identifier. An SPF record is essentially a DNS TXT record listing the IP Addresses that are authorized to send email on your behalf. Not a lot of people are using SPF records at this time for various reasons, but it can't hurt for you to set one up for your domain just to reduce the amount of email. More overview infomration on SPF is http://postmaster.aol.com/spf/details.html 3. Give up and change your domain name or at least have a new one you use for email and keep the website but turn off your MX records and make sure there is no SMTP server at your A record. 4. You have pop/imap mail and someone has cracked/stolen a password and is sending through your mail server. This happens more often then you think and at least you need to look thorugh your logs. :D There are additional caveats and details I am skipping over but those are the four major ones. Note: softhome.net does not seem to be an Open Relay and you are tarpitting incoming port 25 connections with a connection delay. I am an email administrator for a company. We receive approximatly 3 million messages a month. We block as spam, automatically deleted with no review, a little over 90% opf all messages. An additional small fraction of a precentage is grey listed and the recipients have to release them manually. As to Drupal... at first I thought it might be that one of the add-on modules I'd installed was insecure. Before diving into the code, I simply disabled Email-This-Page module and Subscribe module. And the problem still persists. My next idea would be to pull down the entire site and put up a simple "Down for Maintenance" page and see if the problem persists. Any ideas, folks? Drupal, MySQL 5, and caching?

I'm running into a bit of a problem and I'm not seeing an out. I run several Drupal sites that work just fine (macgeekery.com and codepoetry.net among them) so I'm not new to this, but this one has me a bit confused. I installed a fresh copy of 4.6.4 on a brand new Linux 2.6 server running: Apache 2.0.54 PHP 5.0.5 MySQL 5.0.16 The very first page loads without issue after I turn on caching. The next load of that page as an anonymous user, coming from the cache I would suppose, gives me a white screen with no errors in the Apache error log (and a 200 in the access). In the watchdog log I get the famed error: Duplicate entry 'http://triton.codepoetry.net/' for key 1 query: INSERT INTO cache (cid, data, created, expire, headers) VALUES ('http://triton.codepoetry.net/', ' I searched Google and drupal.org and got a *lot* of hits ... and read them all. This incarnation, however, isn't a race condition as older forum posts would indicate ... this is every single page hit to a cached page. If I turn off caching then the site works as expected, logged in or anonymous. Now, CP and MG are run from MySQL 4.1, so is it possible some SQL behavior changed in-between that Drupal doesn't like? Is anyone using MySQL 5 with caching and no errors? Thanks for anything you have...

Looks like path_auto is(or was) in use, noticing that links/equipment_tools_supplies_farm looks very much like a path_auto generated URL. My guess is that there might be some collision between path_auto links generated by the taxonomy vs. path_auto links generated for the content. This is just a guess, but you might try examining your path_auto rules here to make sure the same prefixes aren't being used for taxonomy terms vs. pages. As a corrective step, you might consider disabling path_auto, then go in and "administer url aliases" to remove some of the bogus or conflicting aliases. If you find a colision on the path_auto rules, correct the collision and force an update of all links and taxonomy links. Another thing to check and report back on is, "Where are these 404's coming from?" What is the referring page (If you can find that in your web server logs). Give you a clue as to the source of the navigational error. It could also be relative links in embedded content created by tinyMCE or some such. Viewing the source of the refferring page ought to help you track that down. Does the source contain the double links? messed up URLs

Hello, My apologies in advance - I've been trying to find a solution to the following issue. I have a feeling the answer must be in the forums but I can't seem to find it. I've noticed from day 1 of using Drupal that I have an unusual number of 404's due to URLs that do not exist. Portions of the URL path do exist but not the full URL. Example: /links/links/equipment_tools_supplies_farm "links" exists as does "links/equipment_tools_supplies_farm" but not the full URL I don't know where these are coming from. My install is Drupal 4.6.3 with the following modules: atom - not in use contact_dir event feedback flexinode forms image img_assist node_metatags pathauto - not in use print scheduler sitemenu survey taxonomy_access taxonomy_context tinymce A nudge in the proper direction would be most appreciated. admin backdoor/ "simple mode" ?

hi - I turned on the the i18n module with drupal4.6, and now get the following msg every time i access my site. so since this error comes up immediately, there seems no way to actually get into "admin mode" on the site and then turn the module off... is there something like a "safe mode" or way to turn off modules for example with a config file? or can someone give me a clue where to look in the DB to turn this off? thanks! drupal cvs question

I'm new to drupal, and trying to deploy cvs version on my community site. Some time before I tried 4.6.2, but cvs version seems very different to me. How I can edit primary links? And create drupal.org like top menus? Please help.

Drupal can certainly be configured to track multiple revisions of a node. This is baseline functionality, configurable on a per content type basis. You simply enable "save as new version" in content type configuration screen. (this is the same place where you control defaults for publishing to front page, etc). I would recommend looking at the "diff" module which will show you comparisons between different versions of a node. The undelete functionality is missing as far as I know, but you could get a similar functionality by "unpublishing" rather than deleting a document. It's really not the same functionality that you're talking about, but I thought you might want to think about it. I'm not sure how this would behave when there was a prior "published" version. you might get an older version instead (would have to be tested). Drupal 4.6.4 - bug?

Hello list, after upgrade to Drupal 4.6.4 I've noticed that linking news from RSS aggregator to blog (when you click on a small blue icon [b]) has a bug. Plese look at this screen (red mark in URL): http://dominik.skladanowski.net/_/drupal.png It looks like *&* from the URL is changing on *&* (HTML notation). Isn't it wrong use of htmlspecialchars()? Hi, The only way I managed to do this before is to: 1. Use PHPMyAdmin to disable the module; and/or 2. To log in to FTP and delete the module file.
